DamagedBlack Flag

Rated 10/10

I only listened to this album for the first time six months before getting this on the list. I loved this album I think it’s the speed and aggression that hooked me in.

Blister in The Sun is a banger, as a young 18 yr old me and my girlfriend (now wife) would go crazy in the dance floor as this song blared out of the speakers. What a shame the rest of the album does not hit the same heights. Deserves a 2 but I’ll give 3 for nostalgia

Rated 4/10

I know of Patti Smith but I know nothing about her music. Maybe she has better albums? This was rather dull

I got into AIC late which is surprising seeing as I was a big grunge/alternative fan (Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden etc). Such a shame we lost another one way to soon.

Who doesn’t love them some sexy Swedes! Love Fool, great song but overplayed to death. I hear it now 30 years later and I’m numb to its greatness. Iron Man was an interesting cover, the band were metal heads. Apparently Ozzy said it was the creepiest cover of Iron Man he’d heard.

As a 12 year old my favourite tv show was Tour of Duty. Paint it Black was the opening theme & it rocked. I knew nothing about the song until my late teens when I rediscovered Paint it Black.

Now nudging 50, battling depression (undiagnosed & diagnosed) for 20 years this song slaps even harder. It’s easily in my top 10 of all time songs.

The rest of the songs this album stink. It’s not a good Stones album. I’ll give it a 3 purely on the shoulders of Paint it Black, without it I could easily give it a 1.

Not another Radiohead album. It all just sounded the same and Yorke’s vocals sound awful. How did he sing Creep & then proceed to produce this stuff!
