I used to hate U2. Then I married a man who loves U2. For the sake of my marriage, I have it then an honest go. And I realized I had only hated them because that's what people who had never listened to them in earnest did.

I really enjoyed this, totally outside my normal listening but would absolutely return to this

I guess this is experimental pop music? It’s like they forgot to blend the experimental components with pop music to make something that’s genuinely interesting. From the 2 minutes of reviews I read, people seem to agree that the track My Girls is the high point. Honestly, I thought it was so boring that I had to double check that the song I was hearing was in fact My Girls. This album seems to be built of ideas that no one took the time to finesse. This was beyond mid and I would not revisit.

Really enjoyed this! I'm unfamiliar with this era of Bowie so I don't know if this is stand out or not for him but whatever, I enjoyed it.

Not my fave album in the American series but it's still pretty solid. He sounds so old and frail, kinda a bummer at times
I love some of Dwight Yoakam's albums. I also live that he stayed true to country music at a time when there was a lot of pressure to have more of a pop sound. I'm just not sure this is the record I wouldn'ty picked.

This is album is mid and dated

In reviewing all of these albums, I'm realizing that baroque pop just isn't for me. I guess this is fine for what it is and it's not tragically bad, it just really isn't for me. Bland and kind of boring.

So I legit really liked this. My better half said that it's like a proggy Allman Brothers and I gotta agree with that assessment. But honestly, for as much as I did actually enjoy it, I'm not so certain this is an album one would have to hear before they die. En tout cas, I enjoyed it nevertheless

It felt like it was trying too hard to be late 80s/early 90s rap. It wasn't bad but it wasn't very good. 2.5 stars rounded up.

There were a few interesting parts but they did not make a better whole
Rated 4/10
This is not bad it's just not interesting. I saw someone else say it's the poor cousin of The Flaming Lips and that feels about right.

The vocal gymnastics aren't for me

Look, I can't be objective about this. I just really don't care for folk music. It just isn't my thing. That said, he's got a beautiful voice, it's got a serious country vibe, reminds me of Orville Peck. The album cover is kinda cringe. It's crazy how crystal clear the recording is.

This was weirdly hypnotic. 1920s German Cabaret songs composed by a Marxist and with lyrics translated into English... it's hard to look away. 2.5 stars rounded down.

I just listened to After the Gold Rush, I just don't want to do another Neil Young album. I know yiz all love it, mazel tov!

Fun at times, but three Blur albums on this list is 2 too many
