3rd Kinks album. Can't get the Blur comparison out of my head now. Crosses quite a few styles. Waterloo Sunset is a classic but I'm just not a fan of the album. 2/5.

Just got an Elvis Costello vibe and I don't see what this adds to the list. I also notice this guy has two albums on the list? British bias strikes again. 2/5.

My initial reaction is confusion that Nina Simone gets one album on this list but Elvis Costello gets 6, Bob Dylan gets 7 and David Bowie gets 9. I then remembered the book states its intended to bring attention to gifted songwriters so that partially explains the bias but I Put a Spell on You and Pastel Blues could easily have made this list too and could be argued ahead on this one.

Unique sound. Did I like it? Not particularly but I'd happily have more albums like this over the 'bigger' names on the list with 5+ albums of which only one is actually required listening. 3/5.

This was released in 1990? Sounds like it's 15 years behind the times. Groove is in the Heart is a banger but other than that I don't see this album as significant. 2/5.
