A big old meh.

Based on the album art and the one song I knew already (Solsbury Hill) I was not ready for this album. I thought it would be pretty basic yacht rock. This was anything but basic, it was a wild ride the whole way through. A fun and adventurous album that I enjoyed listening to.

I truly don’t understand this albums inclusion on the list. It’s fine, there’s nothing wrong with it. But that’s it, it’s not really anything special.

This is proof that doing a bunch of drugs doesn’t make you a better artist.

It was fine, kinda boring. I’ve listened to lightning bolt before and wasn’t all that impressed. They’re good at what they do and they definitely have their own sound. But it’s a little too beefy for my taste, and I just don’t find it particularly interesting.

How did these guys get nine albums deep!? This is their ninth album and it is sooo bad, like almost laughably but more so just dull. Unbelievable, I mean good for them for sticking it out till disco made them relevant, but I don’t get how they still had a record contract if this is what they were putting out.

Solid album, I listened to the Jamaican version, it seemed a little more stripped down and heavier on the bass than the original release. I liked the bass, and the stripped down approach.
You can tell there’s some decent songs on this album, but it’s difficult because the recording sounds like absolute dogshit. The production choices, especially on the first half, are baffling. It’s the tinniest album I’ve ever heard, it hurts the ears to listen to. The second half’s production is a bit better for some reason, it’s more balanced, but it still doesn’t sound great.

Never heard of this band. A pleasant surprise. The bass on the first song was something I’ve never heard a bass do before. Would definitely listen to most of these songs again.

Perfect album, no notes.

Sloppy fast rock and roll

I don’t know man, I’m not sure it’s good for asthma

It’s like these guys found a bunch of Beatles demos and recorded them in their basement. There’s a lot of good stuff on here, Game of Pricks is the standout for me.

All of his songs sound like they’re satire because of his voice. I can tell the sentimental ones are meant to be sincere but they sound silly. He’s a good songwriter and the music was excellent, but that voice is goofy.

This was fine. It was well produced, but it wasn’t memorable to me

That was wild. Incredibly unique, they truly have a sound of their own.

I’ve heard this before, I thought it was ok. It’s still fine, kind of sounds like. Violent Femmes but not as good.

I didn’t realize Slipknot was so nu metal when they started out. I like nu metals bass guitar sound but that’s about it. The drumming on here is nuts, but I hate that snare drum, I’m glad they ditched that on later albums. This is better than a lot of other nu metal albums, but I’m still not a big fan.

The first half was pretty solid, but it dragged on in the second half. I got bored, and it felt like they did too. The two “experimental” tracks could’ve been left out.
