I'm not in the mood today. I know I'm being unfair. I know that this record doesn't really deserve the score I'm giving it. But I'm tired. I'm tired of Metallica's untouchable status. I'm tired of them dominating thrash discussion when their contemporaries were far more intresting. And more tham anything I'm tired of hearing the title track of this album.

L.A. WomanThe Doors

Rated 6/10

Wanted to love this but I only like it. There's some really solid ideas at play but the execution is messy.

Rated 8/10

Very upbeat and insightful hiphop album with great production and rapping. Love it.

Close to being really good but I just couldn't get into it. Shame as it seems like something I'd love. Probably need to revisit.

A decent enough collection of synthy pop songs. Theirs some good, some forgettable. Thankfully nothing bad. It fine but it won't stick with me massively.

Hot RatsFrank Zappa

Rated 10/10

It was always going to be a 5. Since I first heard it hears ago, Hot Rats has been among my favourite records of all time. There's nothing quite like it, some of the most fun - groovy songs ever recorded. The longer tracks especially are absolutely brilliant. At times they sound improvised but each musical decision also sounds so beautifully well-placed and intentional. Zappa at top form undoubtedly.

Sea ChangeBeck

Rated 8/10

Amazing record. Such a departure from Beck's earlier stuff, but in a brilliantly unexpected way. Sounds ahead of it's time.

StankoniaOutKast

Rated 8/10

Consistently my favourite Outkast record simply due to the variety on here. There's so many cool but vasrly different treacka on the thing it's insane frankly.

Look, I don't hate Oasis. Their songs are catchy, and on a good day you might even catch me in the pub singing along to them. It's everything around them. It's that their music is safe and that people try to pass it off as revolutionary. It's how overplayed it all is. It just irks me.
