If you'd like to hear how copious amounts of drug abuse, out of tune instruments, and kazoos all sound like together, this album is for you! These idiots couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. As soon as I saw they were Scottish, I knew I was in for a treat. This is absolutely horrendous.

Yuck. I can't stand Marilyn Manson. He's just starving for attention. Dude wishes he was Trent Reznor so bad, but doesn't have the talent to pull off what NIN did, so he has to resort to shock value and theatrics....and making everything so layered in fuzzy distortion that some people may not notice how shitty of an artist he really is. Fuck Marilyn Manson. Imagine what he smells like?!? My money is on stagnant piss and rotten potatoes. He looks like if a disease (like syphallis) became sentient and grew a body....

These guys sound like Oasis lite, and I'm not mad about it. Pretty solid Britpop/alt rock.

Favorite songs: One to Another, Tellin' Stories, North Country Boy, With No Shoes, How High, Only Teethin', Get On It

Least favorite songs: Rob's Theme

Most songs were far too long. I wish I knew why these idiots in particular feel the need to ruin a perfectly good song with noise. Extended runs of fucking instrument abuse. Just....why?? On more than one occasion, they would be onto something cool, then they would decend into some noise riddled horseshit and ruin everything. These guys do not need a double album. A standard length album is more than enough Sonic Youth...

Favorite songs: Teen Age Riot, Rain King, Eric's Trip, 'Cross the Breeze

Least favorite songs: Total Trash, Silver Rocket, Providence, A) The Wonder, B) Hyperstation, "Z) Eliminator, Jr."

I had another of their albums before (Sound of Silver). They are like a 00's indie rock/electronica band. They sound like a modern day Talking Heads

Favorite songs: Call the Police, How Do You Sleep?, Tonite, Other Voices, Oh Baby

Least favorite songs: Black Screen, Change Yr Mind

Unforgiving hard rock. Harder and dirtier than their first two records (The Stooges, and Fun House). Bowie helped produce this one, and I think he also helped reign in Iggy a bit too.

Favorite songs: Shake Appeal, Raw Power, Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell, Search and Destroy, Death Trip, I Need Somebody, Gimme Danger

Least favorite songs: Penetration

Brighton Rock, Killer Queen, Stone Cold Crazy.....fuckin solid album!!! This is really the album where they started transitioning to the pop rock sound that they became famous for.

Favorite songs: Stone Cold Crazy, Killer Queen, Now I'm Here, Flick of the Wrist, Brighton Rock, Tenement Funster, Bring Back That Leroy Brown

Least favorite songs: In the Lap of the Gods, She Makes Me (Stormtrooper in Stelettos)

This album is ....different..... It's part of a musical movement in the 60's called Tropicalia. This genre combines literally any musical genre together and trys to make them play nice together, but they usually don't. It's like Brazilian psychadelica. It's weird. Like, this album has traces of psychadelica, pop, rock, traditional Indian music, Bossa Nova....it's just a melting pot of any style of music or musical instrument imaginable. Not my favourite.

Favorite songs: So Loco Por Ti America, "Alegria, Alegria", Eles

Least favorite songs: Clarice, Anunciacao, Clara

Scottish. Fuck
Electronica. Fuck

Truth be said though, this isn't too terribly bad. I mean, it isn't great. It's like minimalist electronica. But I can tolerate it, unlike most Scottish music.

Someone commented that this sounds like if Air and The Avalanches had a very uninteresting child, and I feel like that's exactly what this sounds like.

Super experimental, but fucking great all the same. I have a soft spot for Tom's music. His lyrics are amazing. They really paint a picture. And I love how rough and unpolished his voice is. Admittedly, this is the most inaccessible of the 5 albums of his that I've listened to thus far, but I still love the chaos of it.
