A BBC public poll named this album as 3rd most overrated album ever made. Oh no...

This was definately a rear loaded album. The first like 5 songs were shitty British indie, then the rest of the album was punk/garage rock akin to The Clash, The Jam, or The Kinks... Not bad. This album was produced by Mick Jones of The Clash apparently.

Favourite songs: Narcissist, The Saga, Arbeit Macht Frei, The Ha Ha Wall, Tomblands, Campaign of Hate, Road to Ruin

Least favourite songs: Don't Be Shy

This album is amazing. Much more upbeat than traditional Nick Cave fare. I really like the addition of a choir on certain songs. This is hands down one of Nick Cave's best.

Favourite songs: The Lyre of Orpheus, Get Ready for Love, Nature Boy, "There She Goes, My Beautiful World", Hiding All Away, Easy Money, Breathless, "Babe, You Turn Me On", Let The Bells Ring, Carry Me, O Children

Least favourite songs: Fable of the Brown Ape

This is a strong veer from Tim's usual shitty folk fare...This is more bluesy/funky mixed with rock and sexually charged lyrics. It surprised the hell out of me. This was actually the most tolerable album Tim ever made.

Favourite songs: Get on Top, Nighthawkin', Move With Me

Least favourite songs: Make It Right

This album garnered The Prodigy all of their fame that they had in the 90's. Smack My Bitch Up, Breathe, Firestarter... Lots of hits on this record. Typical 90's rave music. Similar to Primal Scream but better executed. At least this music has a pulse.

Favourite songs: Breathe, Smack My Bitch Up, Firestarter, Funky Shit, Diesel Power, Fuel My Fire

Least favourite songs: Climbatize

This album isn't bad. It isn't your traditional 90's alt rock. It's like alt rock mixed with Americana or roots rock? It's interesting. Apparently these guys were popular with critics and their musical peers, but never broke through to the mainstream. Michael Stipe of REM stated that this album in particular was the best album of 1993.

Favourite songs: The Hook, Soft Wolf Tread, Dixie Drug Store, Fuzzy, The Shining Hour, Jupiter and Teardrop

Least favourite songs: Stars N' Stripes

This album cover tells me all I need to know about the album...I just know I'm going to hate it (I was correct). Contemporary R&B mixed with electronica. Like Mariah Carey mixed with Usher club music. That fucking breath-y half whispered bedroom music but with a dance beat. R&B always sounds like it's sung by someone who is actively BEING banged. I don't need to hear that shit. Omg, I can't take more than like 2 songs on this shitty album at a time.

That was absolute garbage. I feel dumber for having listened to it. Fuck this whole genre.

Favourite songs: LMK, Frontline

Least favourite songs: Enough, Better, Jupiter, and the rest of this dumpster fire

Fuck, not more Bjork... 3 of her albums on this generator is far too many. It's just more of the same moaning and horseshit that her other albums were. A few of these songs showed promise, then Bjork started singing and agitating dogs in the local area with her high pitched caterwauling. No. Just no...

Favourite songs: Hidden Place, Pagan Poetry

Least favourite songs: Cocoon, An Echo a Stain, Sun in My Mouth, Harm of Will

1/5. I pray that is the last Bjork album I have to suffer through

This dude started the rock band The Jam in the late 70's, then when they disbanded, he formed sophisti-pop band The Style Council in the 80's. After this, he went out on his own in the 90's. Dudes done a lot of stuff across a lot of genres.Because of that, it's hard to slap a genre on this music. New wave /pop/rock? It's that low key waiting room rock. It's not bad. Reminds me of Richard Hawley. I first heard him on this generator a while back. Just good easy listening light rock. That's what this is like. Someone commented that it is the British equivalent of Hootie and the Blowfish or Blues Traveller and I think that is pretty spot on.

Favourite songs: The Weaver, Sunflower, 5th Season, Hung Up, Has My Fire Really Gone Out?, Can You Heal Us (Holy Man), All the Pictures on the Wall, Wild Wood, Foot of the Mountain, Holy Man (Reprise)

Part of that alt rock/folk rock movement that took place around the early 00's. Apparently dude released this album in 98 on his own record label and it did nothing. Then in 00 is was re-released by Dave Matthews label and it exploded. It spent 176 weeks on the charts, making it one of the longest charting albums in UK chart history. Babylon is a fantastic song.

Favourite songs: Babylon, This Year's Love, Nightblindness, Please Forgive Me

I think this is my favorite Joni album I've had so far (this will be the 4th I've reviewed). There's not a dud on this record. Usually I have a hard time getting into a Joni Mitchell album, but this one was great right from the start. She's a poet. This album falls at a time where she was starting to inject more folk and jazz into her music, so I think that helps too. Raised on Robbery is such a high energy song for Joni. It is fantastic!!

Favourite songs: Raised on Robbery, Car on a Hill, Help Me, Twisted, Free Man in Paris, Just Like This Train, Trouble Child

Least favourite songs: I really can't pick one. This album is super solid.

This album..... Is fucked. Todd admits to having done a shit ton of psychadelics while recording this album, which makes sense. The album released no singles because Todd designed it as 19 songs that are each like 2 mins long and all run together. He didn't want to break the songs up. He wanted the whole album to be listened to instead of just singles. Because of this, and the fact that this album is so experimental, and a huge change from his previous album which I've reviewed on here already (Something/Anything?), this album did really poorly. I looked it up.... The album prior to this I gave a 4 to. It kinda sounded like the Eagles crossed with Jefferson Airplane. Good easy listening with hints of psychadelic rock. I even mention in my notes that after that album he got really into psychadelic aspects of music.... I'll fucking say he did. Man this album is weird.

Not sure why some idiot decided to include this album on this list....I am nowhere near high enough for this. It isnt terrible, but it's super weird.

This album is just the incoherent ramblings of a man too fucked up on psychadelics to know what the hell he is doing. Even the album cover screams DRUGS!!!!!

This album does kind of come around after the song Does Anybody Love You?, but it is a bit too little too late.

The song Is It My Name? has some hilariously fucked lyrics. Some examples include:

"there is cause and effect
There is a reason I'm so erect"

"my voice goes so high you would think I was gay
But I play my guitar in such a Man-cock way"....... Wtf does that mean, lol

Favourite songs: Is It My Name?, Hungry For Love, Medley: I'm So Proud/Ooh Baby Baby/La La Means I Love You/Cool Jerk, Just One Victory

Least favourite songs: Dogfight Giggle

Really solid smooth jazz. And a live album at that. You can almost smell the cigar smoke and whiskey from the seedy jazz bar this album could have been taped at. And it is a brassless jazz album, which I love. Sometimes trumpets and saxes get fucking annoying (like in every fucking Miles Davis album). Sometimes ya just want to sit back and enjoy the beautiful sounds attainable by a bass, piano, and drums. So relaxing. Dudes bassist is a fuckin machine!!

Favourite songs: All Of You, Gloria's Step

Least favourite songs: My Man's Gone Now

Oh ffs.... I've been on such a run of underwhelming records, I just don't care about this boring ass R&B/soulless soul bullshit. None of Thundercat's supporting artists on this album could save this dumpster fire. Fuck I hate R&B music. Breath-y singing in super high octaves while porn grooves are played. Fuck off. I may just be too old to appreciate this overprocessed modern garbage. I'm not impressed by dicks who can push buttons on computers. My music needs substance. Like, these morons can't even do soul right.... Soul music..... Needs soul.....this just.... Doesn't have any.
