This band was created by Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth of Talking Heads, so it's pretty similar to Talking Heads.... Really fucking weird. This may be MORE weird than Talking Heads.... That's a feat!! These guys really aren't that bad though. They're really odd, but remind me a lot of a more fucked B-52's. I can tolerate this stuff a lot more than Talking Heads stuff. I think with Talking Heads, it's moreso David Byrne's voice that I hate.

Ugh...not another Scottish band.... I've noticed through doing this generator exercise that there is a good chance that if the band bio says they are from Scotland, that they're going to be shit. That trend holds true here. These guys sound like a shittier U2, which was a feat I thought impossible, but here we are. This bleeding hearts gloomy shit just doesn't do it for me, and the singer moans more than sings.

Got a weird one today. Average song length is like 1:30ish, which makes it feel like just like a bunch of unfinished ideas. It's like indie rock, or lo-fi.
Props to them though for being mentioned in an episode of The IT Crowd. There's also a scene in the show where Game of Pricks is playing to drown out the sound of people banging. Apparently the creator and director, Graham Linehan was a huge GBV fan.

I remember the first time I was introduced to Faith No More. I first heard their hit song Epic while playing Rock Band. I liked the song, but never really explored any of their other stuff, so this will be an interesting listen today. Epic features some funk rap stylings similar to what you would see Red Hot Chili Peppers and Beastie Boys do. There is some really funky bass grooves throughout this record. I find it interesting that Epic is their break out hit off of this record, as I would rate it as one of the weaker songs on the album. There is a wide range of styles here. Everything from hard rock to funk to rap. Overall a pretty solid album all around. Glad I listened, and wouldn't be opposed to listening again. There is a really solid version of Black Sabbath's song: War Pigs on this album, which took me by surprise.

This album was great! The best way to appreciate it would be by listening on a good sound system or over speakers. The music is so intricate and complex. I had no idea This Flight Tonight by Nazareth was a cover of a Joni Mitchell song. It's a beauty!

Today's album is like indie folk maybe? The songs are full of metaphor, string accompaniment (sometimes dipping their toes into jazz a bit), and weird time signatures. It's like dropping acid at a Renaissance Fair. It's like if Joni Mitchell and Bjork had a kid.
The lyrics for the song Monkey & Bear are fucked...
"Someone had told him the bear'd been sneaking away
To the seaside caverns, to bathe

For he was afraid of spelunking

That's too complicated for me. I don't like music where you need a PhD to understand what they're singing about. This is music for hipsters to listen to and analyze to death while drinking a mocha-choca-chino latte 100%.

This is some really smooth jazz. Some of the better jazz I've heard on this generator. It's got a bit of an African/mid-eastern vibe to it. Especially in the song "The Mountain".

Today's album is like indie pop or folk pop or something. Hard to put my finger on. It sounds poppy and folky but has that weird sense about it like most indie. Not necessarily in a bad way, just.... You wouldn't hear this stuff on pop radio I don't think, but it's not bad.
Sufjan basically did a deep dive into Illinois culture, and history, and made an album about it. Everything from serial killers to UFO sitings. Every song title looks like a fucking thesis title. He does a song about John Wayne Gacy which is haunting as fuck. Apparently he's done another of these albums with themes about a different state (the other being Michigan).

Today's album is British indie rock. Some good songs in the mix, but mostly very bland. Nothing to write home about. It's one of those albums that is hard to focus on for any length of time, and is about 30 minutes too long. Some interesting stylings and techniques throughout, but just not enough to make this a strong showing for me.

Ali is a folk guitarist from Mali, and Ry is a guitarist from America. This is classed as Malian folk. Interested to see what this is all about.
This album was fantastic! The classic African folk music coupled with some phenomenal fiddle work (notably on Sega) was awesome!

Today's album is fantastic! Really solid early 90's hip hop. Apparently this album helped garner Busta Rhymes notoriety and led to him breaking out on his own. Busta wasn't actually a member of the band but was featured on some songs, and was always hanging around with them. Their beats are mixed with jazz, and it just works so well. This whole album is a vibe!
