It’s usually considered that Queen were more of a singles band than an album band, and I’m generally minded to agree. But there’s a few exceptions, this being one of them.
Enjoyed it when it had flowing tracks and was more operatic. Would have quite liked more of that!

I thought I was gonna really enjoy this from the first track, felt like Nine Inch Nails meets (shudder) Marilyn Manson. Then the rest was metalcore nonsense. I don’t like metalcore at all. Felt like an Evanescence ripoff… and I don’t like Evanescence!
Despite that, good vocal power.
Also this is waaaaay too new to be on this list

A very varied and decent album.
Obviously she’s got a great voice, but it’s just not my style; the raspy affectation on everything gets a bit too much. It’s quite nostalgic though as a child of the 2000s.
Also think it’s a bit too long. If it lost 20 mins of the weaker material, I think it would be greatly improved.

Beautiful stuff as per with Mr Drake. Some songs are really elevated by the production, some I think it takes away from the simplicity a bit.

Psychedelic Blues extravaganza. Like the weirder moments on this (cover of Alabama Song is a highlight for me, The End too is surreal and gloomy fun). Couple of just ok moments too. But can’t complain too much.

King of the naff rhyming couplet.
I have a soft spot for T.Rex. The first half is far better than the second here, but still fun. 3.5 but I’m feeling generous.

Obligatory ‘Win Butler is a slimeball’.
AF’s second best album. It’s very close to a 5 star for me, but it’s just a couple of meh tracks too long. Make it 13 tracks and then we’ll talk

Jamiroquai was my first musical love, so this is a real nostalgia fest for me.
The album’s not perfect, gets a little bit lost in the funk, but I defying anyone to not dance even a little while listening to this.

This was almost a 4 before the second half hit. 1st half was really cool pre-Duran Duran meets Soft Cell stuff. The second half undid all of it. The All Tomorrows Parties cover was WOEFUL and took out everything good about the original. And the rest was turgid and forgettable. 2.5 but I’m sorry I simply can’t give it a 3.

Great grooves, very danceable.
Would probably be 4 stars if it was half the length, a little tiring after a while.

Obviously this is a great album, like a post-punk, synth bath. Moody and beautiful at the same time.
I’m not QUITE as crazy about it as some people, some of the longer tracks I grow slightly tired of after a while, but a great album by a great band.
