Don't really see the heavy metal in it but it is intense. Found Iron Man funny because Tony Stark wouldn't go on a villain arc would he?? (3.5-4)

Fire delivery that's emphasized by the subtle, not-in-your-face beats. She's British Doechii. She's her.

Just way too much anime theme song energy early in the morning to even appreciate this. And the album cover is just too edgy for some mid metal crap (2.5-3).

This album cover is so 70s ragebait, cause the music sounds like early David Bowie and Iggy Pop. Within the context of prog rock, I like how unserious it is. But I've heard this sound already so it doesn't pack as much of a punch as I wish that album cover must have done in the 70s.

Less punk-y and more power pop. Courtney sounds restrained and introspective here.

I like this kind of bedroom pop-rock mix as it sounds modern for its time. Simplistic like folk but with more much clearer melodies. The songs are quite short and don't seem finished though.

Sounds like a studio recording. Super interesting to hear a mix of metal, hard rock, and punk meld together. I love the guitar playing, the drums, and the gritty vibes I get listening to this. Rock before it got "glammed" to the max (3.5).

Like Kelela's album but with more slow grooves and sprinkled with interludes about Black pride. I like how it sticks to a downtempo vibe but the length overstays its welcome. I wish it were more anthemic. (3-3.5)

This is an American band? They larped UK glam rock pretty good. I don't like the operatic voices they do here but the energy of the production is nice. Reminds me of Roxy Music, which already comes off as mid to me (2.5-3).

The *nerve* to give me this album instead of Peter Gabriel's solo work...

The songs are longwinding and are more focused on instrumentals. And they're all 5+ minutes long, which just makes this so one-note (2.5-3).

Although I'm impressed by the technical virtuosity of this album (playing for 20+ minutes for what seems like no end in sight), the improvisation does throw me off. It's like Trout Mask except there were more breaks between songs for me to digest the sound. I need to take this album in moderation (2.5-3).

What stands out to me is the emotion on this album. "Four Women" was surprisingly powerful to me. Unfortunately, jazz is not really my kind of thing at the moment.

Reminds me of Biggie's debut. You got the pop/R&B hooks and the grimy verses. Within the context of this challenge, this just feels like a retread of past albums. This record feels like the commercial peak of gangsta rap (3-3.5).
