Pretty good. I think it starts out great and then flags a little towards the middle. There are some questionable songs on here, like You're the one for me, Fatty, but overall a solid 3.5

Couple great songs. Couple decent songs. A few meh songs. It’s essentially just blues, I’m not sure why this is considered rock. Maybe the beards? I don’t know, it was fine.

Excellent. 3.5. I love 90s era neo-soul. I don’t listen a lot anymore, but it was my jam back in the day, and this was amongst the best.

Goddammit all to hell. I just finished typing up a review on yesterday's boring-ass Arcade Fire album and my stupid brain literally thought, "well, at least I'm about to get something better than this," and now I have to listen to a goddamned Bee Gee's album.
I don't know what the fuck is going on here. It's not disco, which is excellent, but it's some sort of weird renaissance fair bullshit. Is this some sort of concept album or something? is this prior to disco or is this their "brave" album where they're trying to adjust their sound? Either way it sucks and I hate it.

I just don't like Arcade Fire. I think there was a thin slice of time in the early aughts when this kind of music was popular, but I really don't hear anything like it anymore. I really don't understand why we need not one, not two, but THREE Arcade Fire albums. There are MUCH better bands that have put out MUCH better albums, but I have to listen to three hours worth of this boring, milquetoast shit.

43 songs is too many songs.

OK, it's pretty good. There's no way I could listen to it all the time, but it's pretty cool how it melds genres. I'm not a big glam guy, and that's really what this is at its heart, but it weaves in aspects of rock, pop, and electronica to great effect.
I have to say, though, that Comfortably Numb is comfortably the worst song on the album. Covers are always tricky, because people who love the original will obviously compare the two versions, so if you try to sound *exactly* like the original band, you're probably going to fail, and if you try to put your own spin on it you'll be accused of butchering it. Scissor Sisters took the latter approach and, well, they butchered it. Frankly, even if you don't compare it to the original, it's just kind of a shit song. On the other hand, Filthy/Gorgeous might be the best song.
Overall, this album is fun as hell. It'll have you tapping your toes and nodding your head and bopping around the office and, really, isn't that what music's all about?

I don't know who this is for. It started out kind of OK, but then slowly devolved into sort of a throbbing backbeat with the singer kind of moaning and heavy breathing. I think he was literally masturbating on the song Girl. It was vaguely uncomfortable. As far as I can tell, Johnny is just him repeating the name Johnny for three minutes. Frankie Teardrop tries, I think, to tell some sort of story? But the random, very loud, distorted screams are kind of stupid. Like, it's not a rock song scream, it's just screaming for the sake of it.
I appreciate the decency of it only being 32 minutes, but it just kind of drones on. It's kind of like if Elvis discovered Pro Tools and was 30% more pervy.
It's pretty outstanding, actually. It's not normally my thing, but it's incredibly ambitious. I don't normally look into the albums until after I listen, but I took a peek at this because it is so unique and weird in a really cool way. Turns out it's a rock interpretation of a piano suite by a Russian composer.
I'd say there's a little too much 60s rock organ in this, but overall, it's really quite cool. I won't listen to it on repeat, but I'd definitely listen again for fun, and I'm pleased that I had the chance to hear it. Bonus points: it's a tight, 38 minutes.
It's not trash, but it's a bit tedious. Apple Music has it listed as "pop" but I would categorize it more as post-punk, or 90s pop-punk. It's really not terrible, and I can see why people would love it, but I don't hugely love any of the genres this would potentially fit in, so the best I can give it is a hearty "meh."
Oh boy. I'm in for a ride today...
Surprisingly good. It’s unique, and it’s weird, but in a good way. I think much of their stuff tends to be weird for the sake of it, but I understand why this is such a beloved album.

Very 90s post-grunge Brit-rock. You know how every decade has its huge, tentpole, genre-defining bands? And then there are dozens of bands that sort of dance around that band, sounding vaguely the same as the other coalescing bands trying to recreate the magic of the tentpole band? This is one of the secondary bands. Not awful, but sort of cookie-cutter, and very much of its time.
Since I very much like the 90s sound, I didn't mind it. I enjoyed some songs and some were kind of annoying, and all were pretty forgettable.

Is it possible to separate the artist from the art? Because the artist is as trash as they come - a literal self-professed nazi. Which makes the song Black Skinhead hit differently.
My thought on this album has always been that it's my favorite Kanye album - but I liked it better when Saul Williams and Trent Reznor did it with The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of NiggyTardust. I love the experimental, industrial soundscape, and I actually think musically, it's his bravest and most creative album. Lyrically, however, it's kind of dogshit. It's mostly juvenile braggadocio referencing sex and the female anatomy. Which, fine, right? But on an album that has the song Blood on the Leaves, which talks about the history of lynching black people in the US, it just comes across as lazy and boring.
This is a tough one, because I despise Kanye, and I've always felt he was massively overrated. But while I haven't listened to this album a ton because of my antipathy for Kanye, I have always liked it and, overall, liked it this listen. Kanye sucks, but this album, sadly, does not.

This band very badly wants to be The Cure. Sadly for my ears, they are not The Cure.
Sidenote: the version that pops up in Apple Music is some extended version that's 2.5 hours long and, well, no. I looked on Wikipedia and the original release was ten songs, so that's what I listened to, and that's what's getting reviewed. I don't need to listen to a bunch of remixes and B-sides.
Kind of what I expected. I imagine if you were of a formative age when this was released, it’s probably pretty magical and brings back a flood of nostalgia. Alas, I am not of that age. So although I recognize it as a sweet, good time, it doesn’t really grab me. I think it’s good, for what it is, but not exceptional.

It’s ok. It starts off awfully but gets better. Not my favorite Neil Young.
Rated 6/10
It’s ok, definitely not their best. There are a few good songs, but it sounds uncharacteristically poppy in parts.
Rated 6/10
This was really fun! I liked it quite a bit.

This is absolute trash. Why is this on the list? This sounds like the no name shit you hear in a Banana Republic dressing room while you’re trying on another pair of khakis. It’s background music - at best. I try to reserve 1 star reviews for the exceptionally shitty albums, like literally all country music, but this album is pissing me off with just how exceedingly bland it is. And come to think of it, there’s a suspicious amount of slide guitar in this, and I think I hear a banjo. Fuck this album.
Surprisingly fantastic. This isn’t usually my type of music, but it’s a goddamned good time.
