Roller skating rink music. I don't doubt that building this music and putting it together in a coherent way is very challenging, and it certainly has a beat that can carry you. But just not into the sounds, the style, the little laser-beam beats. Mercifully, just 39 minutes long.

For me this is THE definitive grunge album. More melodic and wide ranging than some of the others, a wider emotional range, and Cornell is the best singer of the genre. One of the easiest 5s I’ve handed out.

Excellent album and great supporting vocals from Stewart. Beck's guitar work is so unique, and it's awesome on songs like Beck's Bolero. Some screaming blues tracks too, with Stewart on the mic.

Excellent classic country album, I think I liked it more than I thought I might. I understand when folks say it sounds a lot like every other country album, but this is on the list because it's one of the albums that brought the sound to life.

Great album with lots of good stuff, a few parts that could be cut or that just kind of wander along, and some parts that feel more country inspired than others. Overall great songs.

This sounds like Peter Gabriel with ELP as the backing band and John Zorn recording in the next studio over with the door open (complimentary). Some of these songs were really good like Little Red Riding Hood... and some struggled along a bit too ambient for my taste. This is the kind of album though that will increase in rating for me the more I listen to it, for now it's a solid 3-4.

Everything about this album is iconic. Great sound, possibly AC/DCs best, or close to it and the blusey influence on many of the songs is great.

Nice album with some nice cover songs. Seems to get a ton of praise. It’s an enjoyable listen, but it doesn’t seem “essential” to me. Willie is a great songwriter and I enjoy his original albums a bit more.

This was a solid album. I felt more alt-country or southern rock in some spots than grunge, maybe it’s the style of singing or the lyrical content. But there is some range and those aren’t necessarily negatives.
