A masterpiece of alternative rock that pushes every edge of the genre. There is never a dull moment here, just hit after hit. I love how it switches from heavy emotional stress to dreamy ballads and back like it’s nothing. At times it feels like this album loses itself in its own grandiosity

Like all of their pre rubber soul stuff this one ultimately falls flat for me as an album. Some real high points here, and it’s really crazy that they were like 22 years old writing these songs. But a Beatles pop album will never be very compelling to me

The WallPink Floyd

Rated 8/10

Easily my favorite Pink Floyd album that I’ve heard, and nobody home is among my favorite songs ever. At times it can drag, as any concept album

BossanovaPixies

Rated 6/10

This was a very solid album. The highs are super high, like 4-5 star range, but some bad tracks bring down the rating a bit

En-TactThe Shamen

Rated 2/10

Thought it might be ok, then he started rapping on the first track and it never left that spot

Another excellent album from Stevie wonder, who seemingly does not miss. Tempted to give this one a 5. Crazy he was only 23 years old

MusicMadonna

Rated 6/10

Extremely interesting throughout. It’s crazy how much of this album impacted pop music today. Like charli was raised on it. Not exactly my favorite style

ArrivalABBA

Rated 4/10

Extremely bland, manufactured eurotrash bubblegum pop. Every song sounds the same, and all of it bad. Would be one star except Why did it have to be me? and Fernando were both good. Ain’t all sunshine and rainbows pal.

In UteroNirvana

Rated 8/10

I think that this album reveals some of the major limitations of this project. If I was blindly listening to it, not thinking of it in the context of the project and my preexisting relationships with these songs and Nirvana’s other work, it would certainly be a 5. However, I spend the whole listen thinking of how this is not Nevermind or Unplugged. Not thinking about if those albums are better than this one, but how they’re somehow more perfect. And then the imperfections of In Utero (which, in isolation, is a perfect album) become louder and more pronounced.
