I wanted to like it early on, but ultimately it felt more like an incomplete attempt to be Art of Noise

Rated 6/10

Smooth Criminal keeps this criminal's album rating above a 1.
Bad is amazingly terrible simply because those keyboards are jarringly basic when compared to other music of its time.

Wow, dipping into the reviews I had no idea how polarizing they would be. Not a lot of common ground for Linkin/Numetal. It's a nostalgic listen for me. This album got a lot of play when it came out despite being on the older side of their target demo, personally. It was great to hear the other tracks that didn't get played often and it will always have a spot in the rotation. Some folks simply cannot stand that others might like something they do not. /shrug

Excellent. Another album that rewards you if you stick with it.
Music for Airports was my first, and for a long time- only, exposure to Eno. Roxy Music was hit/miss for me, but I enjoyed this album.

Simply beautiful, start to finish. In A Silent Way will be getting a permanent spot in my playlist. You can find something new with each listen.

I keep trying, but I've never been a fan of The Boss.
Growing up in the 80's, it was always Dad Rock to me -- and I say that knowing how most of my core favorites are now labelled the same from the later generations.

Backstreets is good, but 4 minutes too long and just straight repeating itself.
Born To Run, the Sax sounds closer to a kazoo and just takes me right out of it.

What a ride! If you can make it past the first track, you're in for a treat. Felt like 5 albums by the time I finished. Another album that was ahead of its time and that has to be factored into the rating.
