Maybe this caught me on the perfect day. Or maybe it really is that good. But at 500+ albums in, this is only one of a handful that I listened to, never heard before, and had to play it immediately again. It was that good and/or powerful.

Those loud/quiet dynamics are things I just love in music from this time period. Add in some of those super moody basslines and at times haunting guitars, and you have somethings really special here.
Some band I really like are either huge influencers or influenced by this band, there's no doubt about that.

Call it post-rock or whatever you want, I just call it really good. The few albums like this that I've found are one of the reasons I'm glad I'm doing this whole thing.

I really didn’t like this. It’s the same beats over the same themes every song. It’s not interesting, and at times it’s just downright bad. Nothing here is for me

I really enjoyed this. I think with a little more focus it actually could've been a 5* for me, it was close as it was. I'll listen again.

Not a huge fan of Motown, but I liked what I heard here. And the funk stuff is pretty good too. I might have to round this one up a half-star, maybe I'm just in a really good moon.

It's a good to great album. But it's even more important than it is great, the NY punk scene in the late 70s and early 80s would not exist the way it did without the Dolls.

And Trash is such a banger.

I enjoyed the beats a bit, but the vocals got a bit much. Better than not liking it at all.

I think this has been my favorite of The Rolling Stones I've listened to so far. Some really good songs, lots of great slide guitar work. I'll listen to this one again over the other's I've heard.

A little torn. I don't usually like to rate things high that I can't really see putting on again anytime soon, but it was so well done that I think I have to rate it a little higher. Probably between a 3 and a 4 for me, if 3.5 was an option, it's what I'd go with. But because I can't see putting it on again anytime soon, I'll round down this time. Not bad at all, though!

I like Don McLean, probably more than I should. Has American Pie been overplayed? Yes. Will I still sing along at the top of my lungs every time it's on? Also yes.

The rest of the album is good. Vincent is a standout, but the rest of the songs are nice, easy to listen to singer/songwriter songs. This was perfect to listen to while making dinner.

What a great pop record. Excellent recording, songs that are fun to sing along to, and just an overall good time. This is the first time I listened to this all the way though, but it won't be the last.

Bored out of my mind. Thought maybe it needs some vocals. Then they came in on the third song and didn’t help.

I thought this was fine. I didn't really feel much one way or the other about it. Perfectly fine album.

I've said it before, but an album has to be exceptionally catchy for me to enjoy it if it's not in English. That's probably on me, but it's still a thing. I didn't really enjoy anything on this one, but never really wanted to skip anything or turn it off, either.

It's totally fine. And nothing more than that. It's music, and sometimes pretty, but turned into background noise really fast for me.

Sometime I wonder if the book editors feel they have to find new music to put on the list.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this. I've been all over the place with Metallica on this list but this one I liked. Or maybe I was just in the right mood for it.
