Yes - prog rock that is rich in textures, interesting melodies, key changes and noodling, but is it actually good … no

2.5 for the influence on bands I do actually like ( Carfiacs, Primus. feotus)

I must have missed the album where the band that gave us “I fought the law” turned into Big Country.

When it’s Punk with Reggae and Ska influences it is actually quite good … less so when it veers into Rocjabilly or RnB

Before Morrissey was an insufferable Twat he actually made great music .

It’s telling that this is so great while not being there best.

No one does up beat melancholy better

Smooth as butter … hot butter … hot buttered soul

A smooth laid back approach to funk and soul. As in 8 minute songs that can be a bit rambling.

Well it’s definitely not subtle. In your face thrash with great riffs and lyrics touching on deep subjects. A little like a 15 year olds social studies easy - a little earnest with its anger .

Metal has a habit of taking itself too seriously, but at least Anthrax bring the fun along with the Noize

The 90s gave us Nirvana, Ice-T, Alanis Morissette, Blur, Pulp, Oasis (I guess), underground classics like Lisa Loeb and Body Count—but it also gave us Friends theme that sold over a million copies.

Unfortunately, Shack sound like some crappy hybrid of Hootie & the Blowfish and The Waterboys, the “I feel like I want to dies.” There are a few decent tracks, but they’re buried under an ocean of mundane songs.

Continuing with the baroque pop style that just comes across as tinny and washed out to modern ears.

I can only assume that 60s Hifi systems were incredibly tinny and simplistic for this to not stand out as awful.

When it works well it’s great but even “Waterloo Sunset” and “David Watts” might not be enough to raise this from a 1.

I thought I like the Kinks but this proves me wrong … again. The third on this list that is good in places but overall not worth the time

It’s mind boggling that Death of a Clown was a single, let alone that it got to number 3 (Uk an Germany)

Makes the white album look cohesive and polished.

I’m not sure a collection of odd ideas and some (mostly) finished songs showcases McCartney!s genius.

I understand why he personally needed to release this album, at the cost of The Beatles it must be said, but that does not make it a good album

A great McCartney song like “Every Night“ being followed by a sketch like “Hot as Sun/Glasses” pretty much sums up this album as a whole.

I wonder (wonder) where thi has been all my life .

Fun afrobeat funk with elements of Ska

Even the constant 6 min + songs just fly by

Continuing a week of 2.xx star rating

Name is quite apt for how I feel . Fxxk

One man’s Calm, relaxing, indie pop is another man’s boring indie pop
It takes till the second to last song for either singer to give any real emotion in thier delivery .

Too little
too late

Two stars

Well at least I now know where “the Dogs” (D’amour) got their jangly guitar/raspy singer sound from.

But at least they where interesting/great for 2 and a half albums

For every “Stay with me” there is a “Debris”

I loved this when it came out , but I don’t own it on vinyl and with this listen I won’t be picking it up

Great in places , and Guy’s voice is soothing . But I can not remember half this album and I’m still listening to it

Purrile and tedious

Actually musically okay in places, but it’s all just about his over inflated ego - pity, as if he was more interesting or deep it could have even acceptable… but he is not, he’s just knob.

If you like this there is a good chance you drive a pickup truck with a ball sack on the back

I came into this project thinking I did not really like Nirvana - then gave nevermind 5 stars, but this makes me think I was kind or right .

For a live album it’s good and the interesting comes across but I just find the striped down version of the songs are missing something

Rated 8/10

Normally, I’m not a fan of singers from the “Rottweiler growling down the mic” school of metal, but there are so many interesting things happening rhythmically here that it actually works . That combined with heavy riffs, that it all comes together into something genuinely heavy and pretty much fun from start to finish

alt rock, with a bit of an odd twist . One of the odd twists is it does not really get started to Velouria.

Ah the fall . Personally I smiled when Mark E Smith's vocals kicked in .

This project is reminding how much I love the fall, while introducing me to new albums of theirs.

Previously I’ve been put off by the sheer number of albums and let’s be honest they are not an easy or casual listen.

Surprisingly this is a very listenable album for them - hence its success , while still being quintessentially The Fall. Which is probably why the average rating is low
