I really enjoyed the first Fall album. But this one just didn’t hit me as much

There were parts that I resonated with. But too much static for me to enjoy it fully. I can appreciate what they were doing though

I’ve got give this one another listen. Definitely intriguing and drew me in on first listen. But I was more so enamored with the production more than the music. But I’m sure that was just me
Rated 6/10
Had never heard of this. But I can dig it. Need to relisten.

I need to dive into more ZZ Top!
Rated 2/10
Just going to say this is not for me.

Color me surprised! Had never heard of this band. Listening to the first track, I thought it would be all very heavy. But I was wrong. I dug songs like You’ll Follow Me Down, Tracy’s Flaw, Secretly. And the vocalist is bad ass. This isn’t my typical thing, but something about it is hard to deny.
Rated 4/10
Much like Frank Sinatra, I have an appreciation for the vocals and the string arrangements with this easy listening music. But outside of a dinner party or a day where the mood fits this type of music, I don’t give it much thought. It seems very safe and hard to distinguish from the other music of the time outside of the vocalist being the unique feature. I think my brain has been programmed too to want more drums, some guitar, a synthesizer, etc. But idk. In summary, vocals were great but the music was boring.

Another band I hadn’t spent much time with and am blown away by. I played this album back twice. There’s some low moments, but there’s a lot of groove and fun being had on this album. I listened to their album after this, Up on the Sun, and that was even better. A lot less punk and more infectious grooves and melodies. I don’t understand how that isn’t on this list. This album feels like the jumping off point for figuring out things to deliver a solid next album.

I understand the influence of this album, but I’ve always thought it was pretty boring outside of Sunshine of Your Love. But apart from Derek and the Dominoes, anything Clapton is apart of just always seems boring.
There were some cool moments on this album. I get what they were trying to do. But it really just made me want to go listen to the Arctic Monkeys. 🤷🏾♂️
Rated 6/10
Bob Dylan always delivers a solid middle of the road album with a few tracks that really stand out. No difference here. I’d probably give this closer to a 3.5 out of 5
Rated 6/10
I didn’t hate this as much as everyone else seems to. And I actually think I enjoyed side A more than side B
Rated 6/10
This was a cool and interesting album. It started to taper off in the end though. Got a little to weird and loose for me. But I’ll have to revisit this one. Bonus points just because Meshell Ndegecello is featured on the first track.

No. This might be one of the first albums where I skimmed through songs. After Christian Life, I was like hold up. There’s so many better albums by the Byrds. This one is too honky tonk and generic for me.
Rated 4/10
I did not get the hype with CHURCVES when they dropped. And I still don’t get it.
Rated 8/10
Hate if you want to, but this is a great album. Side A is very strong! No bad songs.
Rated 4/10
I really want to like Joy Division more…
Rated 8/10
Great album! If you’re going to introduce someone to Amy Winehouse, this is the album to me. Back to Black is fine and the singles are killer on that album. But this to me feels more genuine with her vocals and artistry.
Rated 8/10
Was very surprised by this album. Wasn’t familiar and when I put it on it sounded so fresh that it was hard for me to believe this was from 1975. I will say, it got a little droney by the end. Probably closer to a 3.50 for me, but rounding up to a 4 because albums like this on the list need more shine. And definitely going to listen to this one some more and then I’m sure it’ll be a solid 4 for real for me.
