Took an extra listen, but this is definetely 5 stars. Beautiful piece of 60's Psychedelic pop. Every song here has it's own merit and beauty, vocals are beautiful and accompanied really well. The songs work as standalone singles, yet there's a cohesion to the entire album as well. The entire backstory behind this album and the Zombies is amazing too.

Highway to HellAC/DC

Rated 10/10

Dumb album where everything sounds the same, but a fun and good album still. Brian Johnson was a commendable replacement, but I prefer Bon Scott's voice and energy. This might as well be a greatest hits album with all the bangers on here. Touch Too Much and Walk All Over You are my favorites here. A bunch of good songs, none really bad, good album.

If you're playing this at the congregation you're out. This type of music has aged really poorly. There's a decent beat but then none of the songs built up from that or create something interesting to further keep you engaged. It slides into the background, which sounds intentional but doesn't really feel like it was intentional. Back To Life is an 80's guilty pleasure and does save it quite a bit, but I wish the rest of the album was more of that and less of whatever else was going on.

One of their weakest albums and kind of a weird inclusion, but a weaker Queens Of The Stone Age album is still great. This is their debut album, but all the musicians involved were already experienced with being in earlier bands and releasing beloved albums, such as Kyuss. The first two third are so are typical stuff for them, just Rock banger and banger. The last few tracks kind of lose me though. Queens Of The Stone Age aren't really interesting to me once they start noodling and improvising and the vocals take a back seat.

No OtherGene Clark

Rated 10/10

Takes a bit to get going, but when it does it's really good. Pretty much the stretch from No Other to the end of the album is filled with greatness. Cosmic country as a genre was made for this album. It's rooted in Country, but it feels very spacious and the guitars and layered vocals give the album an epic feel to it. There's really not an album like this.

The worst of the worst for me. I'm not a fan of 90's R&B, it's way too polished, edgeless and needlessly dragged out. This album switches between boring songs, boring skits, awful skits and awful songs. Waterfalls is a decent song but that's about it. I don't need this album to listen to Waterfalls, might as well listen to the 90's radio station variety hour. There were a few better parts about this album, the runtime isn't needlessly long like other 90's albums and I somewhat like the raspy voice one of the singers here has. Just really not my type of music.

Nostalgic is probably the right word for this one. Outside of actually being nostalgic, they just exude this aura that fits the vibe. The hit singles are the standouts here and Simply Red is much more of a singles artist to begin with. There's a few other pleasant songs here besides though. The album does really sag in the stretched out songs for me, Simply Red can't really hold my interest enough for him to go on these more sprawling and longer songs,

Rated 6/10

The Pixies expand on their sonic palette and creative ideas here, compared to their earlier albums. It leads to some nice and unique moments, but the overall album feels a bit meh to me. It's good but doesn't really stand out. Might just take a while and a few listens to warm up to it though.

Alternative sounding for sure, but not really the most interesting sounding to me. Perhaps it's been overtaken by time and became a victim of other albums having made more interesting stuff. It does sound a bit more mature and evolved than their first listen. Not that much to say about it.

Now we are talking real Psychedelic rock. This is brimming with energy and nails the Psychedelic vibe right for one of the first works in the genre. The album cover is great and the music inside does it justice. I like the electric jug used throughout this album. The songs themselves here are great, from the sirens on Fire Engine to the energy of Monkey Island or You're Gonna Miss Me.

My Honky Tonk Hero. I really enjoy his deep voice and songwriting. The album is a bit on the short side but it's pleasant enough. Really big milestone in starting the Outlaw Country movement and bringing Country back to its roots. Just all around ejoyable.

Rated 6/10

Pretty decent, but a bit forgettable. Their first album is great, their later albums are a little more upbeat but also lose their edge in doing so. The singing gets a bit weary to me. They do really create their own niche and that's admirable enough, many bands sounds similar but none really sound quite like them.

God awful. It's like they tried to make an album only using the most unpleasant sounds imaginable. The rhythms and beats themselves aren't bad, but when the soundscapes that they consist of are made of moaning girls or screeching shit it sounds horrible. This list has given me drilling sounds and completely acapella soundscapes yet this manages to sound worse than any of that. Really hard to find out who this is for, it's ''dance'' music you wouldn't want to be caught listening to.

DebutBjörk

Rated 6/10

I was ready to dislike this like I had with all previous Björk albums, but I actually kind of like this? Björks voice and this cliche 90's House beat mix surprisingly well with each other. It sounds a bit goofy, but it's Björk that doesn't sound like it's taking itself so seriously. Still had some wack moments, the last song would've been better off not existing. Outside of that I just liked the beats though. Not all that bad.

It's fine. This kind of falls in the same boat as all other Britpop albums to me. One enjoyable hit, the main hit, some other fun songs and a bunch of alright but not all too memorable tracks. Is anything bad to me? Not really. Will I come back to it? Probably not. It scratches an itch I don't really have.

Neu! ’75Neu!

Rated 6/10

More electronically inclined than their contompraries. Neu has a more electronic sound then something like Ash Ra or Can, although they aren't quite as mechanical as Kraftwerk. I feel parts of the music sound kind of dated because of it. A lot of the parts of this album also felt like waiting music for the more enjoyable parts to come back on. The ending ends off strong and with a lot more energy though. Lands somewhere in the middle for me.

Where Psychedelic Rock really hit the mainstream. Both White Rabbit and Somebody To Love has become staples for Classic Rock stations, and for good reason. White Rabbit especially is one of the best build up in any song to date. The rest of the album is pretty good as well. Not every song is a hit, but they all fulfill the Psychedelic spookyness really well and set a tone. There are better Psychedelic albums from this year and even better Jefferson Airplane albums though.

AutobahnKraftwerk

Rated 10/10

Hell yeah, the ultimate driving song. Autobahn is a transformative piece of music, 25 minutes of immersive 70's German synth bliss. It sounds very robotic as Kraftwork does, but so great. The rest of the album doesn't really match up to that. but it still has some good moments on the second side and the entire side feels like the comedown from Autobahn itself.

It's fine, not really my thing. It's a blend of country and contemporary pop, the country part pulls me but the pop part ruins it for me. It's got this same boring tinge all other contemporary pop albums seem to have. Uninteresting production and some really boring parts. I did find myself enjoying a few songs, so it was far from bad. Just not really my thing.

Rated 4/10

I don't really get the hype behind this one. They do sound like they are pioneering a sound that wasn't commonplace in the 70's. However, it's not necessarily an advantage, as someone who is mostly a fan of 60's and 70's sound and less so what came after. They have excellent choice in what songs they cover, but I'd rather listen to the original versions. Rest of the album sounds very unfinished, a kind of first take and done kind of business. Where is the energy, where is the joy?
