Well. It's better than the last Nick Cave album I listened to.

Goddamn this is really fucking good

I was always under the impression that Radiohead is fine but severely overhyped. I'll need to listen to more albums before I fully change that opinion. That being said, with this album is great and I'm at least starting to see the appeal. Maybe I'm misjudging because of one bad album or something? I guess I shall find out.
This albums feels like it's trying too hard to have poignant lyrics and instead they just come across as preachy and on the nose. Really brings down songs that are otherwise simply fine. Disappointing, I thought I liked George Michael more than this.

Very simple, but that's exactly what the record needed. Ethereal.

Controversial opinion: I think the Beach Boys were better when they were making cheesy, silly surfing songs in their early career. I'm fine with serious music but I'm just not interested in hearing it from this band. Maybe my opinion will change once I get to Pet Sounds though. I admit I've never listened to that one in full. But for now I'm going to keep listening to California Girls and Surfin' USA.
Bro who hurt you. And why are you barking
Finally catching up after not listening to any albums for a few days only to then be immediately given an album with 42 tracks feels like punishment. Definitely gonna fall behind again because of this. Sigh.
Great music though. Acts as a pretty cool time capsule of country music at the time.
I'm so curious to learn more about the album cover. I can find from looking online that the person on the cover was a union admiral, but I can't find anything about why that photo and the civil war theme was chosen. I admit that because it's a country album, I initially assumed it was a confederate soldier so I was kind of surprised to find out it's the opposite. Though there's also confederate flags on the cover, so still not a great look.
Seriously, why did they pick this album cover? Why is Google failing me in trying to find more information?! Because I can't find anything, the confederate flags are gonna make it lose a point in my rating.

Beautifully melancholy, this is right up my alley.

Now THAT'S the type of album I expected to hear from Queen.

I don’t know what it says about my mental state that I really enjoyed this.
Rated 8/10
A lot more poppy than I expected, but I'm not mad at it. Really enjoyed it actually.

At what point does extreme depictions of violence, homophobia, and misogyny stop being defensible under the lens of satire? I imagine around the time you name the album after your real name instead of your alter-ego character.
Did this list really need more than one Eminem album? I got the idea after listening to Slim Shady. Why does this list need two albums with the same basic content?
Rated 8/10
This album really turned my mood around today and had me dancing. It's a little repetitive, but I tend to expect that from this style of music. I already enjoy it, and I can see it continuing to grow on me in the future.

It was so bad that when I got distracted in the middle and paused it temporarily, I proceeded to completely block it out of my mind and I didn't remember to finish it until I came on here to check my next album.
That or I just have ADHD but either way it was not a great listening experience.

Lyrically, it's a lot better than Eliminator! Musically, it's a lot worse.

It's very obvious how influential this album is just by hearing it. There's some really good tracks on here, and I love me some folk punk. However, this album's popularity also proves that incel behavior is way too normalized in society. I hope this list has other folk punk albums. I understand why this one was included, but in order to truly appreciate the genre people need at least one other example where the lyrics aren't awful.
P.S. I'm mad that the "Violent Femmes" is the name of a group fronted by questionable men instead of a group fronted by lesbians.
Rated 4/10
It's not bad. I quite like this style of music, but I think there are better bands out there in this genre. Each track to the next was a bit hit and miss. Don't get why it's on the list but eh.

Previously, the only Beastie Boys song I knew was Sabotage. As such, I expected this to be a purely punk record. I was very pleasantly surprised to learn that it's actually mostly hip-hop, with some punk and other genres mixed in. Overall, I quite enjoyed it. I do wish there were more songs similar to Sabotage, but that's purely based on personal preference and it's not a knock on the album's quality at all. My only *real* complaint is that the album is a little long. Then again, I liked every song and I have no clue what I would cut from it.
I felt like I was whisked away out of my living room drinking my coffee and landed in some far away place in the mountains with the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen.
