Bwwwang. Bwang bwang bwang bwang bwang. Bwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwang.

Hard to take anything from Frampton seriously after "High Fidelity" really and somewhat rightfully so as this is absolutely up there for "have we taken soft rock a little bit too far now guys"

+1 for excellent usage of talk-box "bwang" sounds though.

PSB are basically the soundtrack to Thatcher's Britain. Community - bad, money - good, homos - bad.

Neil's distinctive nasal yet soaring vocal layered over Chris' electronic bleepy-bloops. There can't be many finer 3 album sequences than Actually->Introspective->Behaviour. If you're not from here and that time, I'm sure it loses some of it's magic, but I could very happily listen to "It's a Sin" on repeat.

Did..................... did everyone get this today? If not, that is hella coinkydink. RIP Brian you mad bastard.

Everything you'd expect from Brian is here though and the music press went into an absolute FRENZY over it (as did some listeners looking at the reviews). It's a beautiful thing for sure and *probably* deserves it's place on the list. Just.

Not my absolute favourite of their late-80s efforts, but an absolute masterclass in why drugs are (sometimes) absolutely brilliant

Neil Hannon is clearly a lovely talented man. I probably wouldn't have this on the list myself, but I'm never disappointed when The Divine Comedy appears on my rotation. "Everybody Knows" in particular is an absolutely glorious piece of wistful pop

Always liked Lanegan's vocals, although was more aware of him post Screaming Trees really. You can definitely hear the grunge roots but the psych-rock influence makes it a more interesting listen. Had I been more aware of them in '96, then '96 me would have *loved* this. Coming back to it 30ish years later, I'm filing it under "pleasant enough"

OK, here goes. I never really liked or got The Doors (and was once put in a headlock by a 14 year old classmate to prove just how wrong I was - everybody knows *that* kids right?)

Morrison's voice always just annoyed me and the songs felt so tepid. The tracks you instantly think of are all here, so definitely some kudos for them all coming on debut and Apocalypse Now means I view |"The End" in a different light now. Plus I question how much I was turned-off them, because they were a band you were *supposed* to like?

Sure, it's "of it's time", but streets ahead of other "pop girlbands". Sass, harmonies, style and the singles are all still great to listen to 20+ years later (holy christ, I'm old).

Does it drag a little? Could they have lost a few tracks and kept it tight? Yep, undoubtedly. But there will be groups of bridesmaids dancing with me to these tracks at my grandkids weddings, and I am very grateful for that.

ABSOLUTE FILTH - do not, repeat do not, let the youth listen to this or there will be fraternising and all sorts.

"Hey Ya" was inescapable, and for good reason. Probably the funkiest track since prime-Prince. But hard to ignore the fact there's a lot of filler here. Would a single album featuring more combined efforts have worked as well - hard to say, but I can't say I'd want to listen to all 2+hours back-to-back again.

I get the point that "it all sounds the same". But that sound is glorious - "Red Eyes" probably one of my favourite tracks from recent years. *checks album release date - it's over 10 years old* Shhhiiiiiiiiiiiiit - me is old.

Are you a commercial pop-orientated radio station that wants to occasionally play something "edgy"? Presenting the Foo Fighters.

Whilst admiring Grohl's "fuck it, I'm just going to play everything", it's hard to believe this would have got any traction at all if it hadn't been Grohl. If I'd gone into the only bar in town in Nowheresville USA on a Friday night in 95 (a) I would have been underage and (b) had this been playing, I wouldn't have thought - these guys are gonna make it.

WHAT an album. Yes, yes, we all know sugary-pop ABBA with the ridiculous stage costumes and overly cheerful demeanour. But those long winter days with no sun and too much post-divorce schnapps will do something to your mind.

The opening 40/45 seconds of "The Vistors" is just stunning. All synth and then Frida's haunting vocal kicks in. Goosebumps territory people.
