Excellent. Literally the main reason I decided to undertake this endeavour. Something I hadn't ever heard of that is truly truly excellent.

Wiki says "desert noir", and, living as I do in the concrete suburbs of one of Europe's biggest cities, that is something I need a LOT more of in my life.

Ooooh. Interesting. A bit like The Pogues. Seems a weird amount of hate here in the reviews - I enjoyed it (whilst conceding that maybe I didn't *need* to hear it)

Five innit?

Can't be many greater opening 3 track combos than this. Yes, of course they got massively annoying and Bono became "Bono" etc etc. But as an example of a band at the peak of their powers - Bono's howling vocals, Edge's driving guitar, Larry's heavy boot, Adam's tonality................ it's absolutely glorious.

The algorithm really pumping out the "you weren't cool enough to listen to this then it came out" albums.

I have to be honest, I don't LOVE it, but can fully appreciate the impact it had on the UK music scene.

This list is silly. The Thrills weren't even in the "post-Britpop" B-list. Loads of great acts from the early 00s and you go for the gentle burble of "Just don't go back to Bicester"?? Is there a less California sounding California inspired album?

2 stars because it's not dreadful, but I really didn't need it in my life again.

"Scarred old slaver know he′s doin' alright, hear him whip the women, just around midnight" Oh, wait not that one..........

This is definitely the soundtrack that a gentleman CONSIDERABLY more successful with the ladies that I ever was used to soundtrack his "do you fancy some dinner at my place for a third date". And I respect that. With a deep side-helping of jealousy

Ah yes - this was very helpful. Queen, Bowie and THE DOORS. Are my Top3 "no, sorry music professionals and connoisseurs - I just don't get it"

LA Woman is fine track, and then there's some bluesy stuff going on. OK. And?

Finally, a Byrds album before they stopped harmonising. There are still too many Byrds albums on this list to be clear, but enjoyed the folky roots combined with the "new" psychedelia - enjoyed this one.

Surprising (or not I guess, I'm 700+ into this nonsense now) amount of hate here. Yes, I 100% agree that Bjork did this better, but it's hardly terrible. Did it change the face of music forever - well, no, it did not. Was it an interesting effort from a talented musician that was very different to anything else in the mid-00s? Yes it was.

Maps with 10x the streams of anything else on Spotify and rightly so. What an immense track that is. All brooding with Karen's dusky mumurings over the top.

Let's not pretend that Karen O isn't a lot of the reason for the fandom here, but at least they have the musicals creds to back it up. Not one of my own favourite bands of the era, but I will happily accept the inclusion on the list as they were absolutely inescapable.
