The distraction from crowd noise was very mild, and Deep Purple could freaking PLAY. Even the 20 minutes of prolonged Space Truckin' was a fun listen. I can see why this sold so well!

I am giving this album one star for each track I actually enjoyed listening to.
I'm sorry, I can't get past the prominent Wordy Rappinghood sampling in It's Nasty. What a distraction!

It's got good enough beats to be music to get shit done to, but it falls apart when listening to music IS the shit you're getting done.

Why the long face?
Jokes aside, this is the kind of "throw a bunch of genres in a blender" stuff I really like. Very enjoyable.

Song about Charles Starkweather why, Bruce?

I'm pretty good with basic arithmetic, but I never got into higher-level mathematics.

There's thoughtful critique of religion and then there's cringey shouting. John Lydon wouldn't know nuance if he stepped in it.

It's fun, it's definitely a predecessor to a heck of a lot of other music... and it's a little too pre-hippie-era squeaky clean for my filthy, filthy modern ears. I prefer their later output.

I listened while eating little cubes of cheddar, and the album was the cheesiest part of the whole experience.

Okay. Soft, treble-laden pop rock made by people who clearly love Black Sabbath. "Lovefool" was the only track I'd heard prior to the generator telling me to give the whole album a try. It's always been one of those inoffensive 90s tunes to me, fine when it's mixed into a playlist. I've never really had any strong opinions.
Well, turns out that even though I agree with them that Black Sabbath is amazing, the soft pop rock wears on me when I'm listening to an entire album of it. I wanted to like it more than I actually did.
I'm glad I listened, but I'm also perfectly content to go back to just hearing "Lovefool" in decade mixes. This isn't my thing.

I prefer these old school "sing a bunch of covers to show off the voice" albums to modern day slick novelty autotune, that's for sure.
Otis had one heck of a voice! Imagine if he'd lived longer.

Too dang short! I had to listen to it twice in order to feel like I'd listened "enough". Fantastic.

Wow. The other Barry Adamson album on the list had some ick issues (the cover art, the Jarvis Cocker vocals) but this one is FANTASTIC atmospheric jazzy goodness from start to finish. I'll have to listen to some of his other stuff and see if Oedipus Shmoedipus is the low point of his discography for me, as I suspect it might be.

I have yet to develop much of a tolerance for Morrissey's voice. I liked 1 of the 12 songs on this album... amusingly enough, it's the one called "I Don't Mind If You Forget Me" because I'd really like to be able to forget him.

My love of Nirvana (and the kickass The Man Who Sold The World cover) slightly outweighs my hatred of crowd noise on live recordings.

Well, that's quite eighties. Excessively eighties, even.

this was a mistake, Dimery

This feels like the rough draft of what could have been a really good album.

In my quest to expand my music tastes, Coldplay are going to be the final boss. I gave them a chance and it's still a profound struggle for me to listen to even one track from start to finish without breaks.
