Normally I dread these older electronic albums but this one won me over. I would have to listen again to say exactly why.

Into the sound, the lyrics, the attitude, but still feels like there is something about these guys that doesn’t quite connect with me. Worth a relisten to figure it out.

There were a few moments I liked on this but it’s all been done better elsewhere. I’d prefer to listen to the doo wop stuff.

A Wizard A True Star blew me away but this not quite as much. I am sure plenty of people complain about it being too long and eclectic. Definitely had the Todd songs I had previously known, including “I Saw the Light” from the My Girl 2 soundtrack, the foundation of my musical taste.

The five is more for the artist than the album. There are plenty of tracks I love here but the effect of Dolly on me and my family and our sense of a good life is inestimable. Way too many feelings to process with her passing.

Enjoy these lesser known albums that influenced everything but also feel like I’ll never return to them. This one more likely than others though.

Kind of a mashup of Leonard Cohen, Bjork, Waxahatchee and a harp. Mostly enjoyed it, get why many won’t… but as with a lot of the less popular albums I’m just relieved to hear something that sounds different.

A band I get really into once a year that put back on the shelf for a while. Love the sound but love other groups it influenced more.

I enjoy the overall idea of the Carpenters and many of their songs, but this makes me wonder if they were not really an album band. Didn't discern a strong idea amidst the various covers, but it gets a 3 because I kept singing along.

There's all sorts of Elvis songs and moments I enjoy but this did not seem to have much to do with them. I don't know an alternate album to suggest... I most enjoy his early Sun Records stuff which was before the LP era. Anyway I am sure I would have preferred to spend 40 minutes with him in some other format.

Love this album, not sure it quite cracks a 5 for me but it is insane that “Without You” and “Coconut” are right next to each other.
