Never been to a rave. Never done MDMA. I feel like you need to have experience with at least one of these two things to enjoy this.

Starts off how you'd expect, and just gets weirder. Some solid Ska and a great dancehall track on the front half. A couple tracks that sound almost mariachi that don't really do it for me. The muzak/lounge inspired pieces were interesting but crude compared to the jazz they pull from.
Bowie entering his weird phase. Not my favorite of his album but Suffragette City is easily in the top 10 of best songs ever written.

Wow... This is bad. It's the prog-pop no one EVER asked for. I feel like someone really should have told this band they sucked before they got this far. This sounds like it's being performed at a high school talent show... and they lose to the popular senior doing topical stand-up.

Been having a rough couple of days, so this REALLY hits the spot. This is a party in musical form. Feel-good from start to finish. If I knew how to dance I'd be shaking my ass!

Dance tracks were awful. Non-dance tracks had me scratching my head. This album seems confused.

Wanted to like this more than I did. It's decent '80s pop with some (though not enough in my opinion) new wave mixed in. Vocals are really difficult to enjoy and did not age well.

This rocks. Another band whose name I've known forever but never took the time to listen to until now. Great post-punk here with a weird single-finger keyboard style that sort of sits on top of everything without seeming like it's totally out of place. Reminds me of a tamer Rudimentary Peni in energy and vocal style. Interested on the rest of their catalog now.

Did not get the hype with this band when they were active, but I do now. This is just fun. Punk riffs, glam sensibilities, ridiculous lyrics, and, holy shit, just an irresponsible amount of pop hooks at every turn.

Really good blues-based rock. Sounds like early Rolling Stones, but a little bit more raw. that being said, it's never capitalized on the way it should be. I feel like this could have sounded like the Stooges with the right direction and production but they just never seem to push for that. It falls a little flat to me because of that.

Ice Cube, fresh out of NWA with production from The Bomb Squad! This is pretty much everything I've ever wanted in hip-hop. Some GREAT (and powerful) social commentary on here. Conscious but aggressively so. I just wish some of the more misogynist sentiments were missing, but those seem to be something you just have to endure to enjoy a lot of hip-hop from this era.

Had no idea what to expect going in but this was a good listen. Somehow dreamy but still abrasive. More electronic than synth. Vocals are beautiful. Definitely one of those "glad I'm still doing this project" moments for me.

"Man, come on. I had a rough night and I hate the fuckin' Eagles, man!"

Pretty solid offering here. Quite a few "hits" I recognized and enjoy. Even the deeper cuts are all really good. I've never been a big Elton John fan, but certainly understand why others are. This one definitely makes me feel like I should explore more of his catalog.

Reminds me of that one friend everyone has who NEVER shuts up. Only Randy sings and noodles on a piano. Just a stream of conciseness no one asked for. This sucks.

Not the best Kinks album but I still Liked it a lot. Easy to see the influence it had on Brit-pop here.

Untouchable funk. Just a LITTLE bit less freaky than Funkadelic, but still 100% great. George Clinton is nothing short of a genius.

This fucking RIPS! No further explanation needed.

The first Miles Davis record I ever bought. It was a used copy from 1977 and still sounds great. Arguably the beginning of a new experimental phase for Miles that would last for years. REALLY cool to hear how that evolves from this early non-traditional (now) classic. I love this album!

On paper, this looks like something I was going to hate. Nice surprise that I actually find it very interesting. Lots of bloops and blorps, with glitchy/choppy staccato delivery. Not usually my thing, but what stands out here is that all of this very modern approach to music making is fused with the rhythm section of a '70s disco band, which acts like the backbone to the whole party. Even I have to admit it works.
