I listened to this when it came out and it didn't really vibe with me for some reason, despite being the kind of thing I typically like. But listening to it now, I enjoyed it more than I remember doing contemporaneously.

I like this a lot for about the first twenty or thirty minutes, but it got a little samey after a while. Still, pretty good; strong three.

I saw the film of this when it came out, and the film and Rodriguez' story is more interesting than the music.
Rated 6/10
Decent if somewhat unremarkable NY punk.
Rated 4/10
The singer's voice is pretty weak. I liked the instrumentals on an early song (She Digs Her?) but this was pretty mediocre otherwise.
Rated 8/10
Like this a little more than the one on the main list, or maybe I was just more in tune with it today. Either way, I think this just reaches a four on the user list scale.
Silly me; I'd heard of this band a long while back but had always assumed, based on the name, that they were a metal band and avoided. To my surprise, they are not! Well worth a listen, this is really good.

I'm going to side with the "this isn't really an album" folks on this one. But even if it were to be considered one, it's not one I particularly enjoyed listening to. A very low two.
Rated 6/10
Sorry Canadians, I know this is beloved, but it wasn't super interesting to me. A low three.
Rated 4/10
This was inoffensive 80s music, but nothing too memorable. I had no issues with it not being in English (and am generally supportive of non-English language content on the list), but this wasn't perhaps the best example of it.
I was put off by the first track, which I thought was a little weak, but it got better. I liked "In a Blackout" a lot.
Rated 10/10
I really liked this. To the commenter who said that they felt a similarity to Arab Strap; they played on this album, so that makes sense.
Boring emo-lite.
Rated 8/10
I was surprised how many of these tracks I remembered; there were either a lot of singles from this album, or maybe I owned it at some point. Still mostly holds up, Manson is a good frontperson.
Rated 6/10
I liked this a lot more than Brown Sugar, which I gave one star. This is pretty good R&B with shades of Prince. I particularly liked "Spanish Joint"
Rated 8/10
On the whole, I enjoyed this, especially the Curtis Mayfield and Youssou N'Dour guest spots. But some of it seemed a little parodic; like I was listening to Flight of the Conchords or something. Also that is just an awful album cover.
Rated 10/10
Perhaps not as great as Either/Or or Figure Eight, but still some excellent songwriting. Still merits a five.
Rated 10/10
Heard of BSS before but never listened to them. I enjoyed this a lot; wasn't at all what I expected. Definitely will listen again.
Rated 6/10
I liked this less than I thought i was going to. Pleasant enough, but is far too long, both at the individual song level and the whole album level. Low three.
Rated 6/10
I love Talking Heads and gave Tom Tom Club five stars on the main list, but although this has its moments where it's pretty good, on the whole it's missing the magic.
