Do you have any idea how traumatizing it was as a kid for this to be your mom's favorite album? It's not the most shit music, but it is still obnoxiously infuriating. Every single hit here makes my ears bleed. It's very cheap rock and that's all there is to it.

I was hoping that maybe this album wouldn't be as boring as it sounds. Y'know, like, maybe it would be a little more lively than something called "Guitar Town" by a guy with two first names.

I know better now.

Look I'm happy for all you punks that heard something in this but I just genuinely don't understand the point of 15 songs that don't last longer than a minute

OK I know it's gonna sound braggy but I never get to brag about anything in my life so here it goes: I'm also from Rockford, Illinois and it's SO FUCKING COOL to be from the same place as these guys!!! Like you'll just be driving and you'll pass a road named after one of the members

An exquisitely British concept, no doubt, but these Brits may have wasted their idea by using it at a time when they were in a musical slump. A lot of the instrumentation and vocals sounded cheap and low-effort, and the usual creative songwriting by Pete Townshend didn't seem to be there. I can see where they were going with "Heinz Baked Beans" and "I Can See For Miles", maybe even the opener, "Armenia City in the Sky", and the rest seemed rather uninspired. Even "Tattoo", as silly as it was, was at least on-brand silliness for the Who, but one definitely has to be in a mood to stomach silliness and uninspired.

There's a lot of mean things I could say about her voice, so I'll be nice about it instead: her caterwauls could trigger fire and brimstone to rain down from above and give the angels reason to wield swords and decapitate everyone

How can one album make you feel so many emotions? Every time I listen to Elliott I'm extremely impressed by his songwriting abilities, and this disc was no exception. Too many tracks made me feel things that I don't normally do on a weekly basis. Even with the slightly more upbeat tone than previous albums, Smith still manages to make me want to cry.
