British art school kids do the wrong drugs and horribly attempt Bowie-with one Ok dance hit…the album.

Look, you get to a certain age and you have a kid and the Dan just slaps harder than you ever thought! It's biology, its physics, its meta and its true.
Rated 10/10
Maybe there is a reason this album and its hits have been inescapable for 44 years and counting! It still sounds great nearly 50 years later.
Rated 2/10
Everyone has their limits on this list - look, i even gave Baby One More Time so credit. This is just BAD - pure and simple. A bunch of pop producers listened to Stevie Wonder and took a 16 yr old Disney star from Memphis and boom - recipe for money and pure poisonous ear mold.
Cringe lyrics, cringe drum machine - i am worse for having to go through this. Is that a showtune at the end? WHY!
Rated 4/10
If i wanted to listen to white guy blues, I'd just put on Clapton. Is it possible to separate the music from how much i hate Morrison? Not sure.
Rated 8/10
To steal from another reviewer "It sounds like the first time you fell in love".
Maybe that's true or just my romantic version of teen love in a 80's movie. Either way, what a perfect vibe.
Rated 8/10
It ALL and I mean ALL started with the MC5. No punk, post punk, metal, hardcore or hard anything. No stooges, dolls, Dead Kennedys or CBGBs. None of it- without the MC5.
And yet, Kick out the Jams is the only song I’ll come back to and I wish I never heard Starship.
Would others come after and do it better? Of course? Does that matter, hell no.
Rated 6/10
I enjoy the Offspring as much as anyone else who few up on warped tour…just don’t know that this album is that special.
As another reviewer noted, to have this here but not NoFX or Social D shows the weakness in the list sometimes.
Rated 10/10
Soul? Rock? East African? Hendrix? All of the above and amazing!!
This is when this list is at its best, when you get a true discovery you never would have found previously.
Rated 10/10
Booty shaking, hips grinding, smooth, fun, sexy, layered, psychedelic- all time stone cold classic.
2006 really had a sound huh?
Rated 6/10
A bit RHCP, a bit Van Halen, a bit POTUS - i really cant decide if i like this or not.
Rated 2/10
First song: Not sure I’ve ever heard anyone talk about sex while sounding less sexy since T-Swift. White British dude doing a Prince impression? What is happening here?
Rest of the album: Just why?
Rated 8/10
The Bar-Kay’s shine way way more than Hayes does but it’s still sweeping, cinematic and jamming unlike anything else.
Rated 10/10
The hits are such a facet of modern life - haven’t escaped them in pop culture since birth- is it possible to judge it fairly? No idea but maybe it’s all deserved.
But wow- it sure is backloaded!
Rated 10/10
From the opening notes you know how essential this is to understanding Rock and American pop music. Absolute must listen.
That backing band are road tested dogs- damn they are on fire!
Rated 6/10
Cool musical and Instrumentation for a Joni album - but just doesn’t have the same raw emotional power of Court or Blue.
Rated 6/10
That smoke song had a cool guitar part- I think I heard it in a guitar center once.
It's OK - not sure why i liked this less than Deep Purple in Rock but feels like it traded MC5 for Floyd?
Rated 10/10
More traditional blues than experimental – and the experimental pieces are really where it shines, but still it’s Hendrix. It’s innovative, sprawling and timeless.
Not to mention, the cover of all along the watchtower is just an all-time classic!
Rated 10/10
There is not enough time in just one day- to truly understand all of the nuances of this album. Noise rock is hard for me - i appreciate the endless amount of musicality and it sure does rock, the more noise tracks I won’t go back to but the layers and layers. Just redefining what guitar rock can be.
