The most beautiful bustling in your city..underneath it all is the foundation. The part that makes it ALL possible.

Here’s the thing though, that foundation is nothing but gray concrete and metal. It’s not pretty, or complex and very boring…but it’s where the beauty was all built upon.

Learning about how influential this band is you can’t help but be impressed too by how good it sounds so early.

Will it go back to it a bunch, prob not…are these oddly still enjoyable? Yes

Rated 8/10

Funky, sexy, endlessly hooky, pop, synth rock…and so dirty. Is there anything prince can’t do.

Hooks like they are on a fire sale.

If there’s downsides - not every song needs to be 9 mins..and I GET IT - you f*&*( a lot...i know! My word.

If I’m at a dinner date with the band/album - I’m getting up, faking a bathroom trip and exiting out the back door.

They trying to be arena rock, Bruce Springsteen, gwar, ballad rock…idk and not do they, but whatever it is, they aren’t good at it.

30 years later, still sounds incredible. Not the largest grunge fan – maybe this is the best of what grunge could be. Melodic, haunting and just not a weak second.

Yaaay - the Nazi art school kids make sub-par post punk and the other nazi art school kids go crazy for it..wooo.

Clint Eastwood was and to some extent still is inescapable…the whole album might not love up to the single but one cool intersection of triphop with britpop vibes.

Talking Heads and Depeche Mode have a baby with an early 2K hipster edge? Yes please!

Pop, funk, rock, melodic, endlessly hooky…not a weak second.

First Half: Wooo those hooks are infectious. The line between really good and gimmick.novelty with Riot grrrl is really really thin. This album blows that line away and shreds with it. Infectious indie, infectious riot grrrl punk, infectious pop

Second Half…sigh, at least it’s creative.

Garage rock for art school grunge kids...and it's...*whispering...not good!

Is it all supposed to sound like the soundtrack for a sex crime thriller like Basic Instinct or Fatal Attraction? Also Bo Burnham, that you?

Legit, moody as hell but clean and creative and feel like there are a million new things you’d hear with each listen.

I’m a hardcore punk/music fan…I think?

Is the line between noise rock and punk/hardcore thinner than I thought?

Side 1: :
Flow is pretty untouchable - male machismo untouchable by anyone else. Maybe the heights of the gangster album genre and yet - it kinda feels like a slog. Beats and samples are pretty uninspired and the sex interlude is well...if he hadnt been killed, not sure he'd be in the same category ppl hold him in today?

Side 2: Whoa some damn good hits on there....and theres the BJ at the end of the song....
