Rated 4/10

Look, it wasn't really that bad, but yeah, it was boring and I didn't take much enjoyement from it. The only good thing I see here is that Harry Nilsson got inspirations but this album on its own was just... okay? And I don't like Fred Neil, sorry.

This is NOT what I expected. I've never heard anything from LCD Soundsystem before and after few seconds and snippets I didn't feel good about it, I expected something obnoxious and not very enjoyable. And well, it had some very goofy parts but it was super fun AND THEN... And then the final track came. This closer blew me away, like literally this song is so good, it's one of my favorite songs right now, I can't stop listening to it on repeat. It's perfect. And of course the rest of the album is also very great and I will be coming back to it a lot probably. Really really pleasant surprise.

I've heard about Faith No More thorough the years of my life and I never checked them or anything, they felt like a not interesting band. So, I played the album and at first I didn't enjoy it much but with every second it got better. I didn't like the vocals at first but after a bit I got used to them and saw some good stuff in it - harsher vocals were cool too. And the bassist was just phenomenal. I'll be going back to this album now.

Edit:

Okay, so it's been more than a year since I listened to The Real Thing for the first time, and since then - things have changed. Basically Mike Patton became one of my biggest vocal inspirations as a beginner vocalist myself. And well, my respect and love for his art has grown significantly, mainly through Mr. Bungle. I fucking LOVE Mr. Bungle so so so much. One of my favorite bands for some time now. So, I felt a need to come back to The Real Thing again. So I did, and I liked it very muchly, as much as I did in the past. But now I liked it for other reasons too, so well, it's a really great album. Great basslines. Amazing vocalist, of course. And well, I am glad. I am glad I came back to this one and it really needs an update. So, I am changing the review from 4 to 5 stars. Mike and the crew, thanks you.

It was bad. I don't remember enjoying a second of this album. It's a strong 1, almost 2 though since this album didn't immediatly make me want to turn it off but after not long I wanted it to end.

It was... bad. This album had only 2 actually good songs for me, others were not good and I enjoyed only some seconds of cool samples or some riffs. Ill Communication was surely better. Still, I won't give this album a 1 because I did enjoy some parts of it but it was a disappointement.

The lyrics were obviously better than a lot of rap/hip hop lyrics but this album was so not interesting. I didn't make me want to turn it off immediatly but after some time I got tired of it. Some parts were nice, mostly when Lauryn Hill was on vocals.

Another album I already knew and loved before I started the generator. Kate's music is just amazing - well, maybe not everything she made, but this album surely is phenomenal. It has some of my favorite Kate Bush songs, it's such a beautfiul experience to listen to it from start to finish. It's really worth listening.

Rated 8/10

Some of the songs were great, some of them were just okay but overall this album is a very good experience. It was the first Radiohead album I've heard in my life in full - thanks to the generator, since I've never gotten into them in the past. And I think it was worth it and I'll be coming back to this album once in a while. Amnesiac also reminded me of Insurgentes by Steven Wilson a little bit.
