Nothing stood out to me until I got to "last night I had a dream". It was a cool bluesy rock song but no idea what it was about.

It's a fun album, and I think it had probably the biggest hit of that new-wave of hair-metal rock music. I Believe in a Thing Called Love, absolute banger. The rest of the album is fine, but certainly not hits.

It sounded like video game soundtrack music. I think what stands out the most is that it has aged incredibly well. It doesn't have that "highly experimental gimmick" sound that plagues a lot of early electronic music or even just music that is a pioneer for its genre. It's genuinely good electronic music today, if a bit underwhelming.

Another Afrobeat album by Fela Kuti. This one was good too, but maybe it didn't hit quite as well as the previous album I listened to.

This album is all over the place with some crazy good moments. But it's kind an assorted collection of cool ideas rather than a cohesive album, in my opinion. I absolutely loved Obatala, it's going on my other playlist for cool/chill instrumentals.

I already love this album. Kendrick is a solid contender in any GOAT discussions on rap. This album is a great example. He's got skits/concepts/themes to this album that help to tie the album together. He's lyrically incredible, and his beats are fun despite the frequent seriousness of his lyrics. King Kunta, These Walls, Blacker the Berry, and the undeniable hit of Alright are all amazing tracks.

It feels very experimental and kind of ahead of its time. Little fishes and golden hours go to such a strange place very different but feels like it's in the same universe as In Dark Trees, while being thematic opposites. I really dig it. It seems like a concept album about being on some other planet. The big ship is also super cool.

It comes out of the gate strong with Immigrant Song and then immediately goes somewhere fun with Friends. Bron-y-aur stomp always makes me feel good. Gallows Pole is great. Just a fantastic album.

I've always found their sound to border between catchy and obnoxious. It's undeniably catchy, but am I enjoying it most of the time, no not really.

Rated 4/10

It was very dark and distorted, I would say it was a type of metal, because it was post-punk for sure. It had some solid moments but I think they were still exploring a new sound. So kind of a high two star album for me.
