I imagine Pitchfork writers sit around listening to this drinking Matcha.

All nodding at each other, pretending they’re really enjoying it, but actually Matcha is just a bit shit isn’t it.

For legal reasons I can’t tell you what I was doing, where I was, or who I was with the first time I heard this album.

All I can confirm is I was 18 and ate a whole multipack of wotsits.

A year ago I called Fire of Love by The Gun Club ‘the 3rd best Pixies album’. I might have been wrong.

This one isn’t far below Surfer Rosa and Doolittle.

Rated 2/10

First Algerian album I’ve ever heard.
If this is the standard, I’m ok if its the last.

I owe my discovery of this to M.I.A. back in 2007.

Just don’t ask her opinion on Black Lives Matter… or immigration… or 5G… or vaccines… or truffle fries.

She was an absolute icon and by all accounts, the nicest person on the planet.

But I’m far too cynical and prone to misery for this ‘let’s make the world a happy place ‘ stuff.

A soundtrack for a movie which doesn’t exist?Inspirational.

I’ve just set the dinner table for a delicious meal that doesn’t exist. Shut up and eat your imaginary greens kids or there’ll be no imaginary pudding,

Sorry….. you mean… The Fall… as in, Mark E. Smith’s post-punk icons: The Fall….. did a cover of Sister Sledge??

What the actual fuck.

This whole album feels like you’ve ordered a whiskey and someone has given you a whiskey-based cocktail. Sure it’s got the thing you wanted in it… and its not unpleasant… but you didn’t really want all this extra shit.

Next time just give me my Fall on the rocks.

Always assumed Buzzcocks made ‘catchy but kind of lame’ pop for Shrek soundtracks because of Ever Fallen in Love.

This was cooler and more edgy than I was expecting.
Proto-Pixies at times, Proto-Strokes at others.

I think I’d prefer it with a different vocalist though.
