Sounds like a party band.. as in they were drunk and high when they recorded this.

I only got into the Rolling Stones late in life. As a teenager, I thought they were overrated. This was a kinde of attitude. Now I see things differently. I hadn't heard of this album before. As another reviewer wrote, I also think this album is only on the list because it's by the Rolling Stones. It's not their best album by a long shot. What's interesting is that the great Stones, like every other backroom band, actually started out as a cover band. The originals of the covered songs are far better than the Stones versions. As a side note and information on the historical background, the album is interesting. However, it has no place on the list because it is not groundbreaking. 3/5

Absolutely love The Stones and was glad to experience this once (and only once) to get an idea where they started, but was glad to have it over and have zero interest in hearing any of this again - lots of kinda OK white britboy covers of various blues songs.

I get why other Rolling Stones albums should be on this list, but is this on here just because it's their first? It shouldn't be.
Rated 4/10
While it's kind of interesting to hear The Stones at their earliest, and this is technically fine, the fact that its mostly a covers album kind of makes it tough for me to rate this highly. The covers are fine, if not especially transformative, and the performances are pretty good. Like, they are tight, and I like the harmonica, and that is clearly Mick Jagger, but it only does so much. The three original songs on here (two are written under a pseudonym) are kinda duds, which really doesn't help this album's case. Compared to their later works, there just isn't much of value here, and I'm not sure its position on the list is fully justified.

Old-school rock. It's okay, but nothing special.
Rated 8/10
They got better with their own songs, but still pretty good here

So great to listen to

An absolute classic.
Rated 6/10
Good debut album; it sounds fierce, and enthusiastic. The fact that it consists mainly of covers does not spoil the fun for me.

Rated 4/10
A big ol' album of covered songs, neat. Not that jaw dropping but not horrible. 2.4/5 -> 2/5
Rated 8/10
I wasn't too excited going into this one, because of the low reviews and my general feelings towards The Rolling Stones
I actually really prefered this album to their other stuff!!! I knew a lot of the songs, I enjoyed their covers, and I thought the sound suited them. It did sound a bit Beatles-ish at times but that's why I liked it!
A very pleasant surprise

How’s your debut album just gonna be a bunch of mid covers. The worst part is that the only original song was my favourite one.

I doubt these guys will ever be anything more than a one hit wonder.

Enpä ollut rollarien debyyttiä kuunnellut. Rokkipoikien viihdyttävää kukkoilua.
Rated 2/10
I'm not a big fan of The Rolling Stones in general if I'm being honest, and I also usually dislike albums that are predominately not written by the artists themselves. Needless to say, this one didn't really land for me. It's not unlistenable or anything but it just doesn't do anything for me.
Rated 6/10
Route 66 is famous as hell but I can't say I had really heard the rest. Walking the Dog was fun. I didn't enjoy the majority of this album. R&B isn't my favorite genre and the Stones were in full R&B mode here.

The fun less chin stroking side of the British Blues Boom. I'm thankful that neither Brian Jones or Keith Richards are hung up on being guitar virtuosos (see Clapton). They went on to write great stuff after this as well as a lot of mediocre stuff but at least they weren't yet able to be so in love with their own myth at the start.
