Super weird and fun. Not what I was in the mood for but it made me enjoy it anyhow.

Rated 10/10

With the exception of the musical laxative, every song jams hard enough to make you shake your derriere. Delightful as funk.

This isn't on spotify, so I had to go to YOUTUBE. That's a demerit.

I like the name Funkadelic. Alas, I am prejudiced against all 70s music.

Song #1 gets pretty hype like 4 minutes in though. I like that they say the title in the song. And the f word!? was this on the radio? no, wait a second... it's the word "funk". genius!

I googled george clinton and discovered he is NOT who I thought. I wonder who I was mixing him up with. Sorry, george.

In general, this was OK, some fun moments but ultimately I just don't love electric guitars.

A pretty good and groovy album. The doo doo song was a bit too long and tedious for my taste...
Relistened and actually loved "Promentalshitbackwashpsychosis Enema Squad (The Doo Doo Chasers)" - the juxtaposition of the filthy chaotic chanting and the beautiful melodic and hypnotic guitars and vocals is cool, and I like that they take turns going up and down in the mix. Fun album overall though some songs stood out a bit less than others. (4/5)

Really good album. Rhythm and instrumentals are creative and well executed. I’m not usually a fan but this is an exception.

Rated 6/10

I can appreciate the instrumentals on here but the songs as a whole are nonsense. I think all the lyrics were ad libbed on the spot. The last song they were trying to recreate the magic they had on Maggot Brain. It’s a good song but it doesn’t have the same power as Maggit Brain.

Rated 8/10

Simply great. Long songs with lyrics about poop over some of the funkiest instrumentation you’ve ever heard. The live version of Maggot Brain was really cool. This is definitely one I would want to buy on vinyl some day.

Rated 6/10

A brilliantf funk album, with a blend of rock and psychedelia all thrown in. Its a very enjoyable listen.

Favourite song: One nation and who says a funk band cant play pop
Least favourite: All great songs
Album artwork: Cool cover

Not my style

While One Nation Under A Groove might be the worst of all the Funkadelic/Parliament albums i have looked at, That still doesn't mean its not great. This album was still an immensely fun and funky ride throughout the whole thing. There were quite a bit of the rock elements that i came to know from these two acts and they were handled greatly here. The vocals were also outstanding just adding to the already funky nature of this album. Some of the songs could get a little bit repetitive with their long lengths and all but the best parts of the album more than made up for it. This album still shows why i love Funkadelic/Parliament so much.
Best Song: Who Says A Funk Band Can't Play Rock?!
Worst Song: Promentalshitbackwashpsychosis Enema Squad (The Doo Doo Chasers)

really enjoyed this. need to get it on vinyl since streaming services don’t have it for whatever reason

Rated 8/10

There are some good, accessible grooves on here and then there is some stuff that is a little out there (which you might expect if you're familiar with the band).

If you can get acclimated, this is a pleasing trip.

The link to the album on Spotify showed me that which frustrates me about that platform at times, which is that, in the case of for this specific album, most of the songs were greyed out.
However, searching for the song "Into You" took me to an album called "Under a Groove CD1"...

What is there to say about the album? Some of the stuff is excellent, other stuff even more so, and then some more less... However, why why why do these funk albums all have to have tracks that go on for ever and ever and ever?

For me, it is impossible to pick a favorite song from the album, however, the most memorable one, and probably my pick for my "1001 Album play list" will be "P.E. Squad" as I could have sworn that I was listening to the soundtrack of almost any '70s porn flick!

I had Mothership Connection by Parliament and was a bit iffy because it seemed like that album was more of a skit than music. Now I get Funkadelic and I have to say this blows Parliament out of the water. Funkadelic's got the funk. I'm mad this album isn't on Spotify and I had to listen on YouTube and I can't ever randomly hear these songs on Spotify again which is a shame because I actually really liked this entire album. Sorry Parliament, Funkadelic funked me up.

Rated 8/10

Hard to find this album. A fresh sound, enjoyable vibes. I'm always in for funk. 4* because a couple of meh tracks.
