Classic childhood album, love it but its definitely not a five
Rated 8/10
Classic. Turns soppy to the end.

This is, by far and away, the glamorous indie rock and roll Brandon Flowers croons about...
Rated 6/10
I really enjoyed the first half of this album. Lots of singles that I've heard (sometimes a lot) but sounded real good listening with a purpose the first time. But the second half of the album is pretty bad, and drags a lot.
Might be a fun album to get on vinyl and only listen to side A.
Rated 6/10
It's definitely a time capsule to the early aughts, when it seemed like every rock band wanted to have this sound. The Killers, Jet, She Wants Revenge, Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs, The Strokes, and on and on and on. You don't hear much from any of them anymore, but this is a decent album. 3.5 stars

Pop rock at its absolute best.
Hot Fuss takes me straight back to nights out in my youth. Loud, confident, full of hooks and impossible not to sing along to. It captures that mid 2000s indie disco energy perfectly, with big choruses and sharp, driving rhythms.
Jenny Was a Friend of Mine is a brilliant opener. Dark, punchy and instantly engaging. The album is packed with top tunes and feels cohesive from start to finish. It balances swagger with melody really well and never loses its momentum.
There are one or two tracks that do not quite hit the same heights, but overall this is a cracking debut and still sounds great.
Favourite song: Jenny Was a Friend of Mine
Least favourite song: On Top
Album artwork: Great cover. Clean, stylish and instantly recognisable. I love it

The first half is solid. 4 great songs. The second half trails off a bit, but still liked it a lot.

Oh I know this one, so many fave Killers songs.
Jenny was a friend of mine is a banger opener, love that bass line. A couple songs I did not recognize.
Rated 6/10
All the good songs were already well played and certified hits. The album as a whole was a bit of a disappointment
Rated 4/10
meh. dated. lyrics are pretty whiny, but good production value and music. Change your mind is good.
Rated 6/10
Some of these songs are in a regular playlist of mine. It was decent, but the known hits were definitely the best parts of it. 3.5/5
Rated 2/10
Never listened to this before, despite the ubiquitous singles. Not very good
Rated 10/10
One of my favourite albums of the century so far. Full of songs that were everywhere when I was a student, so always nostalgic for me. However, hard not to hear Bill Bailey singing about hamsters, in the back of my head.
A brilliant album
Rated 8/10

ahhh
Rated 10/10
An album I am pretty familiar with, and an interesting double header with Born In The USA. Mr. Brightside is a slick hit. All These Things That I've Done is another one. This whole album is one hit after another, so smooth and polished it's like an orb. Ponder the ORB!
Rated 4/10
Just insolent noise.
Rated 8/10
At the time I think I thought I was too cool for The Killers but in retrospect this is an absolutely FIRE album. Just bangers from start to end and I have a ton of nostalgia for it.
Rated 6/10
Yet another ex-1001 album!

I'd listen to this album when it came out, but now you realise it's like boiling a frog, you enjoy it, think it's fine, by the end it's too late, you've become a cultural zombie, what am I doing with my life?!
With the bigger hits, though lyrically devoid, I'd still enjoy a good karaoke night with them. 2.5
Rated 4/10
Started this album with a complete open mind, I only really know a few of the singles.
The first notes of Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine really surprised me. A great 80's baseline that could have come straight from bands like Duran Duran or Japan. Unfortunately these upbeat danceable tunes are hard to be found in the rest of the album.
With the exception of the two major hits, which have justifiably become classics, most songs are songs by a mediocre uni-band.
As someone on this site already proclaimed: "A few Killer, but mostly filler"
