Really nice voice. Sort of washed over me by the end.

me listening to Al Green's album on the list: Nice. Some sweet soul. Makes me think of my girlfriend. This is what it sounds like when you love your wife. I sure hope this man treated his wife with love and respect.
me reading Al Green's wikipedia page: OH COME ON

Lovely stuff, beautifully sung and played

A little chill.

I had a lot of fun with this one. A save but not a regular rotation I think.

It's fine. Sure is music !

Al Green's voice is so incredibly soothing. So much "Lover Boy" energy in these songs and it's just so comforting! Love him so much and so happy to be doing this project and getting exposed to albums like this that I would normally not reach for.

Very very smooth, felt like I recognised a few of these despite being pretty sure I haven’t actually heard any of them

Soulful goodness. Such a lovely listen. Exactly what I was looking for from Al Green

I keep meaning to listen to classic soul like this and then I end up not doing that. So thank you for giving this to me. This album is real good. Just classic soul. It doesn’t stand out enough to love-love, but the title track is exceptional, and the vocals and vibes are right-on all the way through. I enjoyed this.

Good old fashioned classic 70s soul. If you enjoy this style you will absolutely love this. Smooth voice, just pleasant to listen. Made my day a little better!

Now we're talking. Al Green just makes being this soulful sound effortless.

Funky as shit boi

Singing along with the title track here!
I am not a big soul music person, but of course I remember a lot of this record from back in the day. There's something about the how it all works together with his vocals that's appealing, especially the subtle guitar and the horn section.
I could have done without the Bee Gees cover, but otherwise this was a fine example of early 70s soul music.
3 stars; high end of 3.

This is an enjoyable listen with two out and out classics. I have always preferred ‘How to mend a broken heart’ to ‘Let’s stay together’ but there’s not a lot in it.
Outside of these two tracks I really enjoyed ‘It aint no fun to me’.
It’s strange then that i dont see this as anything above a 3.5/5.

I listened to a big chunk of this album walking along on a warm day with a gentle breeze and it was just the perfect combination.
Al Green has a fabulous voice and I love the accompaniment. One of those rare albums where the most famous song being track 1 didn't feel, for me at least, like everything that followed was a disappointment - I liked everything.
As a complete side note, Al Green's Wikipedia Personal Life section is *a lot*.
I enjoyed this, but not 5 stars of enjoyment, so:

2.75. I mean, it's ok...

Just a great soul album. Think I prefer Marvin Gaye in general, but this is damn close with a few really fantastic hits. Gives me "Going to Cedar Point" vibes, similar to Chicago to me, although Al Green is much better than Chicago.

This was a really groovy record. Not 5 star material for me personally, but groovy and amazing all around. Loved my time with it.
