Already know and love
Rated 10/10
One of my favourite albums, by my all time favourite band. Was always going to be full marks, but listening again (and again, and again) confirmed it. Riffs, melody, vocals and epic drumming - flawless
Rated 6/10
Only knew Knights of Cydonia before from Guitar Hero and maybe Starlight once or twice but I never listened to any other Muse songs.
I guess this is their "magnum opus" and if so, Muse is not my thing (but KoCydonia rocks!)
The big singles are quite good but the album feels very samey and idk the singer holds notes way too much... listened to it three times and I give it a 2.5, rounding up to 3

It was nice to get an album that was more recent and one I was not familiar with. Unfortunately, I don’t typically enjoy this type of music. I’m not sure what you would call it, but it’s a sound I most associate with Pet Shop Boys. It’s just not my thing. I did quite like Supermassive Black Hole, though.

This album has so many bangers on it.; Knights of Cydonia, Map of the Problematique, Starlight, Supermassive Black Hole... actually, pretty much all of them. Great album! 5/5 for me

Today I get to listen to another record with a song that I know from playing Guitar Hero 3, this time Knights of Cydonia. I am vaguely familiar with some more of Muse's music, but haven't really delved into much of their stuff before.
Muse are a chamber rock/space rock/alternative rock band from Britain. Really, my first time hearing any of their stuff may have been while playing Guitar Hero 3. After that, with the release of their album The Resistance, I got to hear, and really enjoyed Uprising.
Their sound is full of fuzzy, sludgy guitars, a hell of a lot of feedback, heavy bass, and soaring vocals courtesy of Matt Bellamy and Chris Wolstenholme. The fact that they could make this kind of sound as a three piece band is epic, and the harmonizing of the two singers is otherworldly. There are themes of political corruption, revolution, and alien invasion on this record. Revolution seems to be a hot topic with these guys.
Overall, a fairly good modern rock album. I'm glad I listened to more Muse today, there were definately some bangers in here that haven't got a lot of airplay (Assassin/Take a Bow). I will definately listen more in the future.
Favourite songs: Knights of Cydonia, Assassin, Exo-Politics, Take a Bow, Supermassive Black Hole, Starlight, Map of the Problematique
Least favourite songs: Soldier's Poem, Hoodoo

Another Album I've listened to on repeat. Easy Five Stars.

I enjoyed this one more than I expected too. Maybe a little long in parts, but overall, I quite enjoyed it. The lead singer's voice is a little whiny but he at least puts some emotion into it.

Duff stadium-rock in love with the smell of its own farts
Rated 8/10
Rated 4/10
This sounds like Billy Corgan forced Radiohead and Coldplay to collaborate on an album about conspiracy theories at gunpoint.
Rated 10/10
I think this is probably the last great Muse album for me. From here they did some good songs still, but the band as it exists now is so far removed from the one I was really into.
This album though is solid front to back. I really, really like the fact that they're unafraid of going as big as possible. Massive sounds, big riffs, interesting instrumentation and lots of fist pumping stadium bangers, highlighted best with the ridiculously epic Knights of Cydonia.
Rated 5/10
I expected to have a bunch of thoughts on Muse and whether their stuff has aged very well since my high school days when I was super into them, maybe some ideas on the distinctly Nolan-movie-style bombast, evaluating whether I still like it etc. What I thought about instead is how I never really listened very much to this as a full album, usually I just skipped between the singles. The big fuckoff Cosmic Arena Rock pieces show their age, but actually still land alright, but in between them are a whole lot of bad filler pieces that really drag the whole thing down
Rated 6/10
I could never quite bring myself to like Muse, they always struck me as a Radiohead clone with greater technical ability but less heart. This album is pretty good though, it's ambitious, progressive, and very Queen in places.
Rated 4/10
I think that Supermassive Black Hole being used so prominently in the first Twilight movie has tainted that song for me... and Knights of Cydonia was mega hard on Guitar Hero 3!
Overall, I'd prefer to listen to one of Muse's other albums. 2.5
Rated 6/10
A less whiny Radiohead.

nice muse
Rated 8/10
Goddamn I love Matthew Bellamey's voice. His falsetto is so clean, I hate it! Starlight is great. Supermassive Black Hole is entertaining. Soldier's Poem is very Queen-esque. Knights of Cydonia is just so good. Gosh this album was such ear candy I can't help giving it a high ranking even if it doesn't converge on some grand ideal.
Rated 8/10
I really like Muse. Seen them live twice, this is a really good album, love the singles, the rest of the songs are ok. I do prefer Absolution to this album, but as a muse fan I’d rate this 4 stars. Can see why it’s been removed from the newer editions of the book, as it’s not an album
I’d be telling people who have never heard of muse to go listen to, but my own personal preference is I really like this.
