This album was pretty boring in my opinion. I hadn't heard any songs before this listen. To me, this is just pretty outdated. I wouldn't be mad if someone put this album on, but it would never be my choice.

Rated 8/10

title track is a bit overrated but overall this is beautiful work.

Surprised that there are a couple songs here I'd never heard before. Not flawless, but nearly. Very much a proto Paul Simon album, especially these three on side two: "Baby Driver," "The Only Living Boy in New York," and "Why Don't You Write Me." "So Long, Frank Lloyd Wright" is another sleeper that doesn't get enough love.

Simon and Garfunkel were incredible. The songwriting, the music, the new-ness. Some songs are so heartfelt and sensitive. Some songs are just fun. It's kind of wild that the album is only 36 minutes long, but I guess they did what they needed to, haha.

Nothing but love for 'Cecilia' and 'Baby Driver', a lot of the other songs are a bit too slow but damn, there was some real joy contained in this one

Also remind me again what the hell did Art contribute to this band??

Rated 8/10

This is a great album. Every time I think ‘oh this is not for me’ another great song brings me back in. A couple songs I could skip but The Boxer is an all time great.

Rated 10/10

As far as songwriting goes, it doesn’t get much better than this.

Unvergessliches Album mit zeitlosen Songs … „Like a Bridge over troubled water“ 😊, „El Condor Pasa“ und „Boxer” .. was brauch man mehr zum glücklich sein.

Rated 8/10

Some stunning moments but uneven overall.

Maan this album is good. I would rate it a 5 just for the influence and the lyricism, but I have a standard for 5, where I only give albums a 5, that I could listen to any day. And this is a little further from my taste. I like Paul Simon’s solo stuff a little better too i think.

(4.5) love love love

A nice folk-rock album. Full of beautiful, dramatic songs with great vocals and instrumentals.

There were a few songs on this album that I felt had HEAVY Beatles influence. "Keep the Customer Satisfied" is a good example of that. Of course, it's borrowing heavily from Soul/Blues, but does so in the way the Beatles did.

"Baby Driver" is even more obvious with the Beatles influence (and even Beach Boys with the "ba ba ba baa" adlib) with the chord progressions and vocal harmonies. Sounds like Paul could've covered this song perfectly.

"Why Don't You Write Me" sounds like it would fit just fine on Sgt. Peppers.

And that's totally fine! This is a really great album.

Side 1 is excellent, side not so much.

Not as good as Bookends, but still pretty good

Such a great album. Hurt me a little when my youngest didn't particularly care for it when we were listening. I think I can turn her around, eventually.

My fourth S&G album (counting Graceland by Simon), and 200th album of this project!

Out of the S&G albums proper on this list, probably my least favorite of the three (gave both the others a 3 as well). Not much really stood out to me aside from Baby Driver (love the movie the song inspired as well). But everything else is pretty solid. The title track, I swear I'm more familiar with a cover of it but I can't figure what version that is. None of the covers (or original) I'm finding on Spotify are as bombastic as I remember.

But yeah, good album. Couple great tracks. Weakest of the three S&G albums on the list, but they're all some flavor of 3 to me. But better than Graceland which I gave a 2.

Rated 10/10

This is one of the best albums I've ever heard. I don't even have a joke for that.

Rated 10/10

Their high point. Includes some of the best songs ever written. Easy five stars.
