Couldn't find it on streaming so I cannot comment. I listened to some other music by The Band instead.
Rated 2/10
Just a bit dull
Rated 4/10
I've struggled to have an opinion about this. It's fine. It weirdly made me think of the TV series Roseanne until it turned into the actual theme tune to Absolutely Fabulous.

It has some great tracks especially The Weight obviously (The Wheels on fire is also really good) and I can here how this goes onto influence others later down the road. But those highlights are let down by the rest of the album being mostly forgettable, well played and performed, but forgettable to me.
Rated 4/10
#2 from The Band for me and I have to say I'm kind of disappointed today. I mean The Band is fine, but not anything I would pick myself. Maybe I'd be more excited if I was 30 years older....
Ok so who starts off your first album with such a slow dirge-y sounding song. Like, this is the first impression you're making on the world and you choose this as the leading song? What the hell man? The Weight is a decent song. I don't mind Chest Fever. The rest of this album is totally forgettable and I hate how prominent the organ is through this whole record. I feel like whatever made this relevant when it came out doesn't exist anymore. 2/5

Storytelling set to a mix of country, blues, and rock that works. It reminds me of "Nixon" by Lambchop and the later indie influences like Faye Webster. I can see why Bob Dylan and George Harrison liked collaborating with "the Band" because this album gets lyrical more than it does melody-wise at the start.
A reflection I had from this album is that one/a few good song(s) can affect how I see the rest of the album. After "The Weight" for example, "We Can Talk" immediately stood out to me as a fun song. If not for those two songs (Side B at this point) it would've been barely a 3.

Solid performances. Are you listening Creedence?
Rated 10/10
A classic. Not as good as their other album on here though. I feel they improved on these songs after and they sound really complete in their later live work. Still a very enjoyable album. The Weight has to be one of the best songs of all time.
Rated 4/10
Didn't really resonate with me. Just not a fan of The Band

Why does the band have two albums on this list? I mean, I hope there are only two and I don't have to listen to them anymore. YES, THIS IS THE LAST TIME, OH THANK GOD!
This is so inoffensive that I have no idea what my opinion on it is. It is like I have listened to nothing in the sense that I have no afterthoughts. There was no song I liked outright and no song I hated; nothing. I actually need a second listen to choose my favorite and least favorite songs because I have no idea. It is not bad; it is just not my taste at all. If I liked this genre, I think this would be a good album, especially for a debut, but rating it based on how much I enjoyed it, I am going to be frank: not so much.
The Weight is overrated, that is all I have to say. Why is it the hit? I have no idea, honestly. The first six songs or so sound the same; I just don't like this record. There is some diversity, but it is scarce. For example, Lonesome Suzie is a ballad that could be relaxing if it weren't for the way his voice cracks or shakes or whatever. Maybe he does that on purpose, I don't know and I don't care; I just don't like it. I don't remember their other album that well, but I think it was better than this.
Favorite song(s): Chest Fever, Long Black Veil
Everything in between: meh
Least favorite song(s): This Wheel's on Fire

essa capa eh bem bonita né
mas eh isso aí, americana daquele naipe. não eh ruim, dá pra ver que eh bem feito. não é minha pira, mas não odiei não!!
Rated 6/10
I don't honestly know if I've ever heard an album that makes me feel as completely neutral as this one does. The complete absence of anything sounding either good or bad is kind of impressive.
Rated 8/10
I'm quite familiar with this album, but very much enjoy it. There are some tracks I don't enjoy as much as others, but overall this is pretty darn good.
Rated 8/10
I thought initially I will give this only 3 stars and really the big deal here is obviously "The Weight". However, upon a few listens mainly throughout the day but more-so in the evening, I am really enjoying a few other tracks, mainly the album closer "I Shall be Released", but also opener "Tears of Rage", "Long Black Veil" and "Chest Fever" so really this probably deserves 4 stars!
Rated 4/10
It's very boring, that's my overriding feeling on this one. There's some tracks on here that are quite nice (Lonesome Suzie, I Shall Be Released) but it's not enough to move the needle. It's mostly just very dull, with several tracks thrown in that I kind of know and have heard before.
Rated 4/10
The band never really clicks for me. Certainly talented and has its place but I can't seem to engage with it.
Rated 10/10
Absolute classic. The Band would be the best American group of all time if 80% of them weren't Canadian.
Rated 6/10
Un récord indispensable de la banda canadiense-estadounidense. Definitivamente merece una escucha.

4 1/2 ⭐️. Warm album. Classic tunes. The great Levon Helm. Yeah this is a classic.
Rated 8/10
The Weight is an absolute classic and the rest of the album pales in comparison but it’s all still pretty good
