The WHO have some good songs but I think they were more of a singles band.

This is quite good. Not really the call to action you'd expect from knowing the title track. Can do without the blues tribute tracks like Please, Please, Please and I'm A Man.

Fav track: The Kids Are Alright
Least fav: Please, Please, Please

I have learned that The Who are much more than just their CSI: Crime Scene Investigation theme songs. It's funny though, the first thing I thought when I looked at the album cover was that the blond guy looked like the Greg Sanders character from the original CSI (before even thinking about the theme song connection).

𝘔𝘺 𝘎𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 isn’t The Who’s strongest album, but it’s impossible to ignore the impact of its title track. That song alone crystallized the raw frustration and restless energy of 1960s youth in a way few bands ever matched. The rest of the record is uneven but full of hints of what The Who would later become — loud, defiant, and stylistically bold. As a debut it’s historically important, even if it doesn’t stand as their most consistent work.

Grappig hoe veel er uitgeprobeerd wordt op dit album van slechts 35 minuten. Daardoor is het helaas wel een beetje een rotzooitje. Wel een prima rotzooitje om aan te horen.

I like The Who, but this particular album doesn't do a whole lot for me. I prefer their later, more expansive stuff. You probably had to be there at the time to fully appreciate this one. A few standout tracks, especially towards the end, and Keith Moon's drumming is a highlight.

So every white British boy in the 50s/60s just sat around listening to blues and Phil Spector records?
My generation might be the best rock ever written though…if the rest of the album sounded as intentional.
Rated 6/10
An enjoyable, fun album to listen to. A few more songs that I would classify as fairly average thant those that I would call great.

Honestly, better than I imagined. really tight. There's a mastery of the music that borders on farce? We are so good lets play these songs as a laugh. I just listened to the Kinks and I think they are both way overqualified for the music they play and they both have a similar feel, where the kinks play it in earnest perfecting the pop tune, this album is I got drunk one night and played this for a laugh for my friends.

All hail Keith Moon. Go ahead, hail Keith Moon, this review will be here when you get back.
My Generation is an "important" album. This has the seeds of The Who's explosive nature all over it. The title track is unquestionably the most incendiary thing on here. The Townsend compositions are miles and miles better than the covers. So after this, the band relied less on them and more on their own writing If I remember correctly this album was somewhat rushed out, like a lot of the early to mid-sixties British invasion tracks due to various managers trying to cash in on the rock-n-roll trend. Which interestingly, did kind of die in the 90's, didn't it.
But rock wasn't dead yet, Pete wasn't old, the rest of the band was on their best behavior and this incredible piece of work retains its charm 60 years on.

Here we have a genius, an incredible vocalist, a crazily good drummer and the Ox more than showing what they were capable of. What must it have felt like to be a teenager when it came out hearing those stuttering ffffs. In turn, sounding like the Beatles and the Stones they in fact didn’t need to emulate, they were fantastic then and still are.
Rated 8/10
iskreno, dosta dobro! ugodno iznenađenje. najbolja stvar: la-la-la-lies
Rated 4/10
I could never party to the who. It just never really tripped my trigger. I'm not even sure who it was designed for. I don't resent it flatly but it does nothing for me personally. Something feels off. Unlike with stones or, like, great northern soul stuff I just can't get down with it.
Rated 8/10
Really good debut, but their latter stuff is significantly better.
Rated 6/10
Not their peak.

pretty run-of-the-mill debut for a band in the 60s if we're being honest.
just doesn't really hold up when you consider what the Stones and the Beatles were doing in 65.
Rated 4/10
I don't really rate The Who aside from a few isolated offerings, or indeed this album. It's just a bunch of scrappy, incohesive nonsense with someone whining and groaning over the top of it, whilst sounding like it was recorded with a Sony Ericsson sent back in time. Maybe there's a deeper meaning at play here, but I don't care to try and make any sense of it.
Rated 8/10
This was pretty good I actually enjoyed it a lot. One of The Who albums I liked more.
