Really boring actually
Rated 8/10
This is good stuff; I like Blur. I don't like this quite as much as later (more Pavement-y?) Blur. Still a solid four though.
Rated 6/10
Probably the Blur album that I'm least familiar with. It's fine, but nothing really piqued my interest.
Rated 6/10
You can tell Blur was finding their footing with this one. I don’t think it quite reaches the heights of Parklife, but it’s still solid. Miss America is kinda just nothing. Favorites were For Tomorrow, Advert, Chemical World, Oily Water, and Turn It Up.

Second Blur album in a row... what is this black magic???
Rated 6/10
Solid, but not amazing.
Rated 4/10
Why does Robert Dimnery have such a hard on for Damon Albarn ffs?!?
Favorite songs: Advert, Coping, Colin Zeal, For Tomorrow
Least favorite songs: Pressure on Julian, Miss America

Liked this album much more than their self-titled 97 album. Good catchy power pop riffs throughout, like a heavier version of the Kinks, but I like the Kinks, so ok. There were a couple tracks that pull the score down: Oily Water (didn't like the guitar effect or the noisy ending) and Miss America (with guitar detuning like My Bloody Valentine, which I hate). Admittedly, Oily Water grew on me once I got past the effects and Miss America surprisingly sounded better on close listen. One other small quibble - the mix was a little too trebly - I had to turn the music up pretty loud to get good bass sound, which was a shame because the bass player has a lot of interesting riffs. Beyond that, though, I enjoyed the album. Favorite tracks: For Tomorrow, Advert, Chemical World (including the piano "intermission"), Villa Rosie, Coping.

So far, I've always really liked the stuff I've heard from Blur. A 2-hour album that inspires would also inspire me. Unfortunately, that's not the case with this album. Nothing of the first half stuck in my memory. In the second half I became impatient, jumped from track to track and was a bit bored. In the end, I stopped listening to the album. 3/5

Hyvä ysärirocklevy!

Good album. Singable. Melodic. Rhythmic.
Rated 8/10
Creative! Lots of interesting themes across the songs. Second album I've listened from Blur, and so far, they've been grand. The frantic outros on some of the songs make me feel like the train on the cover, chugging at full speed frantically on a track that goes to nowhere.
Rated 6/10
Started off strong with the first song but not very memorable after that
Rated 6/10
Nice album but I prefer Parklife #musicaky #albumsky 3/5

I think I’m starting to understand all the hate directed at britpop.
Rated 4/10
Being an American child (apologies for that given...everything now) at the time this came out, I was never really exposed to Blur much until they had already faded away. I knew Oasis, but Song 2 was literally the only Blur song I knew growing up. Even now, I can only name a handful. I guess that's all to say that as a kid growing up in the desert in the US, Blur didn't really make it that far, though I know they were much more popular elsewhere.
This album? It's just kinda plain. I feel like this could have been any number of British pop rock bands in the early 90s. And I'm sure it was. Maybe it's just looking back 30 years later but nothing really sticks out for me. I've heard sooo much music that sounds just like this, there's nothing that makes me want to keep listening. Villa Rosie is kind of a weird high point for me, I liked that one. The rest? Meh. I can think of a lot of albums missing from this list that would have been a better pick than this one. I was going to round up because the album name is great, but it's now the next day and I can't even remember how any of the songs went. 2.5/5.

Good Blur Album not my favorite one but still good!
Rated 8/10
Some good stuff in here, feels like it defines a lot of upcoming alt rock. 4*
Highlights: for tomorrow, villa rosie

A little long but still its a very enjoyable time. Strong 3 to light 4 cant decide

It's fine. I like Blur, but I think this album is a bit hit and miss. This is more of a transitional album, and they really hit their stride on Parklife. I'd imagine Parklife has to be on this list, otherwise I find it extremely sad that this album is here instead of the one that sent them stratospheric.
Also, I love Gorillaz. That has nothing to do with this album, of course, but I just wanted you to know.
