A well constructed album with a number of memorable songs. Some of the interludes were not great, and some of the songs were kinda forgettable, but overall good. 4/5

I think this is…a little more than decent. I love this project for making me hear the full albums and learn more than just the hits and this happened today. It’s been on my to do list to listen to this full one. The hits are still great. The skits drag the album down. All that said, it was enjoyable. But not on the level of ATCQ or De La Soul and others.

4/5. For a group whose legacy is largely defined by clashing egos, conflict and scandal, you honestly don’t feel that in their music as all three members here play off of each-other very smoothly. That being said, for me the highlight is unsurprisingly Lauryn Hill who gives this record a lot of its most iconic hooks on songs like “ready or not” and “Killing me softly with his song”, the former being my favorite track here. The production is also mostly great. That being said, what the hell was that Chinese restaurant skit lmao.

I mean, just one of the best of the era and I think will live on as one of the best cover to cover albums of all time. It may actually be better today than it was the day it came out. The beats, the lyrics, the melodies, the flow. Just that good. 5.

Shoulda listened to this ages ago
Rated 8/10
I listened to this album a lot in my mid-20s, and it is a lot better than I remembered; I would call it "almost perfect," but it's poisoned by a couple fatal flaws. The beats are so raw and minimal in a really gorgeous way -- it holds up against the best production of almost any NYC hip hop record from the 90s. And their rhymes, flow, and chemistry are unmatched. But, (1) the skits are not only irritating, they fall victim to this insane anti-Asian trend in 90s hip hop that I cannot get down with; (2) the multiple cover songs and interpolations generally do not interest me.

First time listening to this and it is really, really good.

Up there with Jimi in the "What could have been?" category. And kind of similar in the degree of virtuosity and strangeness. A sound and a message that has never quite been matched in any subgenere of hip-hop, yet they influenced all of them. I'm way out of my depth pronouncing anything a "best of" in the hip hop category, but I'm quite sure this is the best of something.

This has so many great songs and I’m surprised Lauryn Hill and Fugees aren’t usually mentioned as the best hip hop artists. 8/10

The Score by Fugees was one of my most egregious blind spots in Hip-Hop. And even on a first listen, I can tell that this is really something special. The trio of Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean and Pras is electric. Everyone gets ample chances to show off clever, conscious, and dynamic raps. And they also contribute a lot to the production of the incredible, varied beats across here. And I can definitely see how this had some cross-over pop appeal; songs like Killing Me Softly smartly incorporate RnB into the sound here. I also want to say that the sound on this album has aged *incredibly* well. This doesn't sound at all dated or cheesy, and I was really struck by some of the flows on here. I don't have a lot to complain about, but I will say that this is a solid hour of dense rapping, and I haven't fully digested it. But as I said, there's definitely something special here, and I see myself coming back to this quite a bit. But what is certain is that this has earned it's legendary status.

It's a solid and sometimes slightly annoying hip hop album. Nothing special to me.
Rated 8/10
Really liked the majority of this. Couple of weaker tracks towards the end

The Score is an album that i have pretty mixed feelings on. My mixed feelings go towards pretty much every aspect of this album. In terms of the production and instrumentals, there were points where it was cool and gave the songs a really neat vibe but at other points, it could just be quite boring. The vocals were good in some places, especially Lauryn Hill's vocals but sometimes, the rappers did sound like they were really bored. The lyrics are also pretty mixed here to with them being smart in some areas but dumb in others. This album pretty much just flip-flops between scores so often that i feel like the only score i can give it is a 3.
Best Song: Manifest/Outro
Worst Song: How Many Mics
Rated 4/10
No es para mí. El rap nunca me ha gustado, tal vez unas contadas excepciones con algunas canciones, así que no pude disfrutar más que unas 2-3 canciones.
Rated 10/10
𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘦 blends hip-hop with soul and reggae influences in a way that feels both natural and fully realized. The production is rich and varied, and the performances are consistently strong, giving the album a clear identity from start to finish.
What stands out most is how effortlessly everything comes together. The songs are memorable on their own, yet the album never loses its flow or cohesion. It’s engaging throughout and avoids the unevenness that often affects records of this length.
For me, this might be the best hip-hop album I’ve heard so far.

Another great hip hop album on this list. I’d not listened to this all the way through before. But will definitely be listening again.

Somehow never listened to this and thought it was great. Will be coming back and every chance this is a 4 star in the future

The bars hit so damn hard, and the production is just groundbreaking. This is nothing short of iconic - and everybody knows it.

It took me some time to warm to this. I really didn't like it off the bat and thought it was really boring. However... there's a decent amount of good tracks in here. The tracks where they're straight-up rapping together work well. Some of the tracks are pretty chill and have some good rhymes.
