We'll Let You Know is a bit of a drag, and has vaguely racist overtones. National Front Disco is a better tune, but again, worrying lyrics ("England for the English"). Musically this was fine, though I liked it less than "You Are The Quarry". Can't in all conscience give this more than three .

Rated 6/10

He's got a good voice and the music wasn't bad. I'd probably give this another spin or two, but that's probably it. 3/5

Я доволі прохолодно ставлюся до сольної творчості Моріссі. Не скажу що це поганий альбом, але повертатись до нього якось не тягне. Можу виділити дві останні пісні, а особливо Tomorrow.

Rated 4/10

The smiths but without any of the qualities brought by the other members and all the controversy remaining. Why are there 4 morrissey solo albums on this list

Rated 6/10

The 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die provides a great case for the existence of Stockholm Syndrome with your captor being Morrissey. I listened to my first Morrissey album almost a year ago and thought to myself “this is pretty alright, but I have no desire to listen to more”. Now, this being my fourth solo album from him with two The Smiths albums in the mix as well I find myself really liking what I’m hearing and wanting to listen to more of this bloke. Favorite songs were We’ll Let You Know, Certain People I Know, We Hate It When Our Friends Become Successful, and I Know It’s Gonna Happen Someday.

Rated 8/10

Pretty cool rock music.

Standout tracks: You're Gonna Need Someone on Your Side, Certain People I Know, We Hate It When Our Friends Become Successful, I Know It's Gonna Happen Someday

Fine album, sounds like some nice 90s college rock. I liked a bunch of tracks on here, especially the first and last track. Lots of solid hooks and riffs here, prefer it over the other Morrissey album I had.

Rated 4/10

This man has one of the MOST gorgeous voices. So it’s strange to hear it paired with tangy guitars. An upbeat disco beat ain’t it either. And why waste time on long instrumental breaks?
This album is just all kinds of wrong. What a waste.

Rated 2/10

Once again I question the rationale for including this in a must-listen list. He has no vocal range. The vocals are flat and monotone. The melodies are simplistic. The guitar strum on one song sounded like it came out of a beginner chord book and it never changed throughout the entire song. Is this some middle school music project?

Rated 4/10

This was better than I expected going into it. I’ve never cared for morrisey’s voice, it just irks me for some reason. So I didn’t love the singing on here but it was tolerable. And the songs were not bad. I really only liked We’ll Let You Know, that song was cool. Other than that I didn’t mind it but I would never return to this album.

Not his best work Chris

Rated 4/10

This kind of sounds like an AI generated album. He's not supposed to be singing to guitar tunes like this. And it's nothing original at all.

Rated 6/10

Enjoyable sound, don't know much about the dude. 3*
Highlights: the national front disco

Rated 8/10

A massive album for Morrissey and easily one of the high points of his solo career.

Your Arsenal has real swagger. The glam infused rock sound suits him perfectly and gives the record a punch that some of his other solo work lacks. The guitars are sharp, the rhythms are confident and the lyrics are classic Morrissey. Witty, cutting and slightly camp in the best possible way.

There is a boldness running through the whole album. It feels focused and self assured. This is Morrissey fully leaning into his persona and making it work.

You’re the One for Me, Fatty is a standout. Catchy, cheeky and unmistakably Mozza. Tomorrow is solid, but for me it does not quite reach the same heights as the strongest tracks.

Favourite song: You’re the One for Me, Fatty
Least favourite song: Tomorrow
Album artwork: Iconic and striking. A perfect visual match for the album’s attitude

A confident and stylish record that stands tall in his catalogue

Rated 6/10

Soms wat rockend, soms meer richting singer-songwriter. Allemaal licht theatraal. Zoals I Know Its Gonna Happen Someday het best laat horen. Het luistert als geheel makkelijk weg. Al staan er paar wegzakkers op en slaat het nummer We'll Let You Know nergens op. Als je het nummer zelf niets vindt, hoef je het niet door de shredder te halen. Je kan het ook weglaten.

Rated 4/10

Yeah, no. He’s still a piece of shit.

Rated 6/10

Bien, sin más. Más rock para la lista.

Rated 6/10

This one was a little boring. Definitely Morrissey's weakest offering

Rated 6/10

Oh FFS! After yesterday's Coldplay, I wasn't ready for another knobber. Okay, putting reservations aside (again), giving it a solid listen. It turned out to be alright - maybe a few jarring rockabilly moments - but overall, it's a good, consistent, well produced album.

Rated 6/10

This is my second album by Morrissey (third of you count The Smiths) on this generator. The first record was Viva Hate, which was gloomy and depressing. This album was similar, but not as heavy on the doom and gloom.

This record was more indie rock focused, whereas the first album was more like goth rock.

Morrissey still hasn't cheered up on this record (came out 4 years after Viva Hate (my first reviewed album)). Apparently he is a bit of a tool, which comes across in his lyrics, which sound preachy and pretentious by times.

Overall, not a bad record, but I found myself constantly zoning him out. His voice is just too moany for my tastes. Plus, it's a beautiful day outside, I don't feel like moping about listening to fucking Morrissey all day. Cheer up dude, have a burger ffs.
