Heavy metal!

Not sure what to make of this one. Quite a cacophony at some parts. As for jazz it is pretty interesting and definetly something I want to spend more time digging in and listening. This one needs some time to appreciate.

Ich mag Jazz, aber das war mir viel zu stressig.

A very interesting album. For long stretches, I also liked it very much. However, there were also more difficult parts that I didn't get on with so well. The album is certainly very good, but I probably won't listen to it again soon. 3/5

This challenge has not been kind to me this weekend. First, Super Furry Animals—and now, more jazz.
Unfortunately, this album felt like dull background music. The tracks blended together so seamlessly that I struggled to tell when one ended and another began. Track 3, in particular, stood out—but not in a good way. It had an odd, 1950s Disney-esque vibe that felt completely out of place. Very bizarre. I can’t help but wonder how many more jazz or swing albums I’ll have to endure.
Favorite track: None stood out enough to pick.
Least favorite track: Track 3, without a doubt.
Album artwork: Nothing noteworthy to mention.

Very unsettling jazz. It's different from your typical jazz records. But pretty cool.

I’m not the biggest Jazz fan. This was a challenging listen in parts but there was some good in here too.

There were definitely a lot of ummm... choices... that were made

I like quite a bit of jazz. This isn't great for me. That's just a stylistic preference. It's a really good album. If you're into that kind of freeform music for the night and then it's perfect.
Rated 8/10
The Good: a short little album of only 4 songs
The Bad: that these songs combined are 40 mimutes long
The Ugly: that we are left without any real knowledge of what happens between The Black Saint and The Sinner Lady…
This is jazz… the kind that is hated by many, and adored by those who do.
The kind of music which, like it or not, makes you pay attention while you are trying to figure out what the musicians are thinking.
While playing on the background, time flew by, and that is a good thing. What I don’t know is if time would pass just as fast if I were actually paying attention to the music, as there is so much to pay attention to.
Also, I am cheating here as I am catching up on several albums while I was away for a week, therefor unable to really get into this album… so let me play it a second time around and see what my second time around thoughts are…
Liking it better second time around… odd… weird… wondering if I would get a headache if I’d listen to this with headphones on—this due to trumpets on one side, sax on the other…
So, yeah, another jazz album done…

A film noir freak out, this is THE album to listen to while tailing some dame and slipping into a hallucinatory mental breakdown.

I had listened to this a couple of times before and enjoyed it, but never really absorbed it until now. It's not really like any other jazz I've heard before, and is an interesting blend of styles. It is a bit Avant-garde, but not in an off putting way. Very refreshing in general, and I can see how it might work as a ballet. Very emotional and dramatic, with a nice bit of resolution in the end.

Seems like I just love all Jazz.
This was another cool one.
Keep em coming

Considering I don’t really like jazz this was pretty nice. Especially liked the end of track C and the repeated motifs throughout the album.

Pretty amazing jazz. A wonderful cacophony.

Interesting. Not a huge jazz fan, but this seemed pretty experimental.

An extremely tough listen. Like listening to someone scrape their nails down a blackboard 🤮

Cool, an entire album that sounds like the orchestra warming up before they actually play songs. You know songs, those things with some structure, melodies, and other things that make you actually WANT to listen to it.
I just don't get jazz, especially this type, at all.

I enjoyed quite a bit of it. There were some very fun and different sounds, but a lot of the time it just seemed a cacophony of noise. Too much going on at once, at least to my uncultured ear.
