Pretty average but gets an extra point for Highway to Hell

What a fuckin weird album. The Gnome sounds like a Nigel and Marmalade episode. All in all, it's an okay album.

Not bad. Nothing really stood out though. My first Bowie album on the list. Would have preferred a more acclaimed one.

I know I should consider these albums in isolation but I've had so many average albums lately. Plz give me something better than 'okay'.

Was a disappointing. I thought I'd like it a lot more but it was just kinda average.

Pretty average ig
Reading the reviews before listening (don't recommend doing this) made me think I would hate this. The opening of the first song starts with some screaming which I did in fact hate. However, the album itself is fine. Sounds kinda like Jack White to me. My biggest issue really is the length. It really doesn't deserve 1 hour and 19 minutes. If it was half that time, it'd be a 3 but I have to mark it down for being pointlessly long. The best song is 'Get With It' which sounds like Elvis singing whilst reversing a HGV.

Quite enjoyed it for background music but it does feel a bit odd to have on this list. 3.5/5

I really don't know what to think of this so I'm just going to give it a 3.

Me like old rap. Me not like new rap.
Three or four decent songs in over an hour is a poor return on investment. Compton is the best song by far. Real, m.A.A.d city, and, surprisingly (because Drake), Poetic Justice were the other good songs.
Most of the time, I enjoyed the phone conversations about dominoes more enjoyable than the songs. Almost every chorus is terrible and annoying. The list of producers is longer than the phone book.

I did write a much longer review but forgot to save it so... 3.5/5 pretty good.

I find myself giving this a 5 mostly because I've been far too generous with 4s recently. I have listened to it in full a couple of times before and have always enjoyed it for the most part. It's definitely a single piece of art more than it is a collection of songs though. There's not a single song on the album that I would add to a playlist. That's not necessarily a bad thing but I think I prefer albums with one or two great songs carrying six or seven average ones than eight above average songs that flow well together.
The opening "song" and 'On the Run' are both forgettable which makes for a pretty bad start. 'Time' and 'Money' are probably the best songs on the album. The last four songs could have been a single song and I wouldn't have noticed.
The album cover is legendary. Possibly the most recognisable one of all time, or at least top 5. But I think that is part of the problem. It's so legendary that it's almost impossible for it to live up to the hype.
All that being said, it's certainly an experience and a good one at that. Is it perfect? No. But it comes close.
Rated 8/10
I don't think it's quite a 5 as the second half is a lot weaker than the first, but it's still a damn good album.
Rated 8/10
Quite average for the most part but there's a few really good songs on here like Patience which make it a 4 for me. The vocals are SO 80s and I don't really remember any of the lyrics but it's pleasant enough. I saw a few reviews call it generic 80s synth pop, but there really isn't that much synth here. It's mostly guitars and it feels like a precursor to bands like Pulp.

The audio has such high clarity for a live album. It feels like it was very ahead of its time too with lots of elements you didn't typically hear in 1969. It's like they heard Helter Skelter and made an entire album out of it and I'm all for it. Much better than I expected having never heard of MC5 before.
