BlurBlur

Rated 6/10

I've only listened to one other Blur album start-to-finish, and I think I only recognize one track by name on this album. The irony of that is it's essentially an untitled song.

As I mentioned in my other review for the other Blur album I've listened to, in the head-to-head Britpop battle between Blur and Oasis, I prefer Oasis. This isn't bad, but I don't quite understand what's supposed to be so great about this.

Rated 8/10

I've most probably heard all the tracks on this album, but I'm not sure I've ever listened to it start to finish.

This may not be my favorite ZZ Top album, but it's no slouch. I should probably add it to my library.

I'm aware of the hits from this album, but otherwise this is my first time listening to this album start to finish.

My favorite track is easily "Setting Sun." And it's probably because I like Noel Gallagher more than that I particularly like the song. There are a few tracks that just get too repetitive. This album isn't bad, and I'm glad I listened to it. But I'm not sure I'm feeling inclined to listen to the album again.

I'm familiar with a bunch of Fats Domino songs, and there are a bunch on this album. I've never listened to a Fats Domino album start-to-finish though.

This is exactly what I was expecting, and it's solid.

I'm pretty sure I've heard this whole album, though I'm not sure if I've ever listened to it start-to-finish before.

I'm a fan of metal, but generally don't really like Metallica. It's mostly because of Lars. The other guys in the band, I quite like. I bet in the alternate universe where Metallica has a better drummer (as both a musician and a person) I'd probably love Metallica. Unfortunately, this is the Metallica we have in this universe. Sad but true.

I'm aware of this band, but have never listened to an entire album of theirs. I've heard Skin do guest-vocals on some other projects, so I had an idea of what I was getting into.

I feel like Skin shines a little brighter than the rest of the band. The music and musicians aren't bad, but maybe she deserves something different/better. I might have to check out her solo material to see how that works out.

This is my first time listening to a Girls Against Boys album. I'm familiar with their single "Super-Fire" from another album, so I sort of know what I'm getting into here.

This is interesting, but a little uneven. Some tracks have an undeniable groove, other tracks are mostly forgettable. It's like the answer to the question: "What if The Fall was a little better and more listenable?"

My only prior experience with Fela Kuti is with the other album of his on this list, so this is my first time listening to this particular album.

This is exactly what I was expecting, and it's solid. I'll definitely check out more Fela Kuti albums.

Wild GiftX

Rated 8/10

I don't think I'm familiar with this artist at all.

This sounds like the more punky cousins of Talking Heads. This is pretty solid and really neat. I'll be adding this to my list of albums to listen to again.

NowhereRide

Rated 8/10

I'm not sure I've ever listened to this artist before, but this is definitely the first time I'm listening to this album.

This is some pretty solid shoegaze. And where My Bloody Valentine tends toward a wall of sound which can blur the lines between all the instruments and vocals, this feels a little more like a standard rock band. (I do enjoy My Bloody Valentine, and the previous statement shouldn't be considered a criticism of either band. Merely drawing a distinction between the two.) This is interesting and enjoyable, and I'm happy this site made me listen to it. I think I'll add this to my list of albums to listen to again.

Ugh. I suppose the upshot of getting another Morrissey/The Smiths album to listen to is that it means there's one fewer album in the future which this site will make me listen to.

I'm still listening to the first song, and I'm not sure I'll make it through to the end of this album. I will try to persevere though.

I'm managing to make it through this album by giving every 1 star review on this site a thumbs up.

This is my first time listening to this album. It's also about a week and a half since Country Joe just passed away.

This is an album. I listened to it. I even read the blurb in the book about this album. I still don't understand why this album is included in a list of 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. It seems like the most special thing about this album is its inclusion on the list.

This is my first time listening to this album start-to-finish, though I recognize many of the song titles as standards.

I'm just not a fan of Sinatra. Admittedly, he's better than I expected on this, and that might be because it's one of his earlier recordings.

I think this is the first time I'm listening to this album start-to-finish, though there's a bunch of singles on here that I'm pretty familiar with.

This may not be my favorite Prince album, but it's still pretty darn good.

This is my first time listening to an Elliott Smith album start-to-finish.

This is okay, but I feel like it's very restrained and I want it to let loose more.

I'm familiar with this album, though I don't listen to it enough. It's quite good.
