I've spent 17 years in the woods professionally as a career, and it's never been this fucking boring. This is music for hippies to think they feel a connection to nature. Nothing more. Now that I've wasted an hour of my life, I'm going to go back into the woods and enjoy the actual beauty of nature. Interesting album cover, fucking dumb concept.

Favourite songs: Pop 4 (the song where something finally happens.... I get it's ambient music, but my fuck.... )

Least favourite songs: Pop 3 (no one needs to hear a gross squelching noise for 11 minutes....)

Another Smiths-like but without the insufferable douchebag of a frontman. This is jangle pop like the Smiths mixed with indie like Arctic Monkeys. Does this list need yet another britpop number? Probably not. But am I glad to have listened to it? I am. Overall, a pretty solid album (especially the second half).

Favourite songs: Fallowfield Hillbilly, Not Nineteen Forever, Kings of the New Road, What Took You So Long?, Bide Your Time, Please Don't

It is crazy how much one of these MCs sounds like Jay-Z. This hip hop has super strong low end. It is definately a huge workout for a sub. Solid album.

Favourite songs: Blockbuster Night Pt. 1, Close Your Eyes (and Count to Fuck), Oh My Darling Don't Cry, All Due Respect, "Lie, Cheat, Steal", Early, Angel Duster

Least favourite songs: Love Again

A departure from Arctic Monkeys standard indie rock fare. This album is more dream pop/psychadelic pop with a bit of jazz mixed in.

Favourite songs: Four Out of Five, Science Fiction, Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, Batphone, The Ultracheese, American Sports, One Point Perspective

Least favourite songs: Golden Trunks, The World's First Ever Monster Truck Front Flip

This album was apparently originally released by Paddy McAloon himself without the rest of the band, but later was re-released by the band. This isn't pop like the rest of their music. It's like dreamscape jazz.

Largely instrumental with classical orchestration and recorded exerpts from radio talk shows for context. Not bad, and much more interesting than their regular bland pop fair, but also not something I'd ever call required listening.

Favourite songs: I'm 49, Orchid 7, I Trawl the Megahertz, Esprit de Corps

Least favourite songs: Ineffable

Post punk sung by someone who sounds both uninterested in singing post punk, and very interested in sounding exactly like Nick Cave.

Favourite songs: Windsor Hum, Male Plague, Corpses in Regalia, A Private Understanding, The Chuckler, Here is the Thing

Least favourite songs: Night-Blooming Cereus

Favourite songs: Face of an Angel, At the Summit, The Emissary, Above the Continuum

Favourite songs: Crimson

Least favourite songs: none, there's only one song on the album. I could have picked a segment of it to like or dislike because it was broken into 8 parts, but the song is really solid, so I treated it as one big contiguous piece the way it should be.
