enjoyed this more than i expected. i remember a bunch of these from when i was a kid but i appreciate them much more now

this year's model? more like this year's fourth elvis costello album. i've been doing this for just over a year somehow have already had four elvis costello albums, three coming in the last month. there is nothing inherently wrong with this album, it's good, but i'm so tired of elvis costello. he's wildly over-represented with six albums on the list while countless other artists and genres were completely snubbed. that said, his work with the attractions is miles better than his solo work.

this one is a mixed bag. one great song, a few more good ones and the rest are best left in the 90s. the vocal delivery on the first track reminded me of len's steal my sunshine which came out a few years after this.

i didn’t expect to like this after seeing the genre was noise rock and hearing the first track but at some point in the second song I really started getting into it. underneath all the noise , they had some really great grooves on this album.

the a side was good, but the b side was great. aside from the killing moon, which is the clear standout, i really enjoyed crystal days and find it odd that it wasn't a single. it had a bit more pop sensibility than the rest of the album while still maintaining the dark post punk aesthetic.

the title of this perfectly encapsulates this album-an insipid manifestation of the suburbs themselves; a lifeless and boring soundscape to match the monotony of suburban life. the suburbs feels like the milquetoast hipster who lives next door trying way too hard to impress his equally insufferable friends. there are a few songs with redeeming qualities but even those wore out their welcome before the two-minute mark.

i didnt like the doors as a kid and because of that have never really given them a chance as an adult but i really enjoyed this one

very interesting album. each track was unique and stayed fresh throughout. im not sure how much i really liked it vs liking the variation it provided but i enjoyed it either way

another great album by stevie made even more impressive by fact that he played the majority of the musical parts. the songwriting is solid but the ballads do detract from the funky vibe brought by the use of the moog bass. still an incredibly well crafted album

i've never understood the appeal of oasis. they are the musical embodiment of a headache. ill be the first to admit that this was way better than i expected but my expectations were through the floor so it wasnt a very high bar.

thought i only knew one of these but ended up recognizing way more of them than i expected. a little boring at times but at such a short runtime i wont hold it against them. overall pretty solid album
