Really didn't like the first Frank Zappa record - the r&b/beat parody with soft mocking lyrics and self-satisfaction that the first record did (and that that this record sometimes goes to) doesn't really appeal to me. But at other times on this record it is basically The Residents or Devo a few years early and it is genuinely pretty woke throughout even if Zappa seems a bit full of himself at all times

Such a great blues record, Janis was such a brilliant singer with so much personality and makes all these songs her own.

Very solid bossa nova stuff - the production and electronic elements elevates this but Bebel has a great voice too and brings a lot to the table. Very close to a 4 for me

Really baffled by this... Almost uncannily retro, some melodies are nice but can't help but feel distant from the project as a whole

So creative and just incredible - very close to a 5 for me. The vocals are so soulful and beautiful, the instrumentals are so impressive and break rock conventions. It all blends very well together. Will be listening again!

I'd never heard of Suba before yesterday and I'm glad the generator brought us here - this is a brilliant record, it has no weak tracks and it has a few spectacular ones - my favorite is Samba do Gringo Paulista but there are many to take your pick from.

This isn't bossa nova lounge stuff by any stretch of the imagination and baffled by the top reviews suggesting this (did they listen past the first two downtempo tracks?) - it's electronic music in a bunch of different styles, with so much colour and imagination.

Anyways I really loved this and giving it a 5.

It's honestly very good despite everything - the band were thugs who looked the part and formed to sell clothes. But it is electric, super heavy and kinda unlike some of the other leaner punk rock from that time. The fact that so many punk and post-punk bands formed after going to their gigs makes this something special.

I did enjoy this a fair bit - some really strong highlights and it is genuinely expansive and tries a bunch of styles. I found that this made it a bit less cohesive and I didn't enjoy it as much but I understand that others could argue that this is the greatest strength of the record. I can imagine listening to this in 1971 (?) and being very excited for what Bowie will do next

Don't really get what all the fuss was about. Starting to think that Elvis was popular just because he was hot which in a way is progressive and I have to admire the hustle but it's not a great album in the year 2025

Didn't realize Sinatra was making concept albums back in the 50s... It's really good but definitely quite long for what it is. Instrumentals and vocals are all very smooth and it's a very easy listen if not super compelling throughout.

Really good - showy but not too technical, super melodic and songwriting is there as well. There aren't any weak tracks but opener is a big stand out
