I really liked it at first, but then it started getting really avante garde and annoying.

Country music is abominable.
Rated 8/10
Awesome. A classic. Hip hop is so steeped in the culture of the moment that listening to old albums can be a bit like a time capsule. Overall, it holds up. A bit long, but I enjoyed it.
Rated 6/10
I wanted to like this more than I did. I enjoyed the musicianship of it, but it strayed a little too close to country/bluegrass-y on several occasions for my tastes. It’s not that it was bad, I think I just expected more. A disappointing effort by an exceptional band.
Rated 6/10
I enjoyed this more than I thought I would…for the first 11 or 12 songs. Unfortunately, it’s 16 songs long — too long.
I don’t know what this is, but it’s wild and weird. I thought it was good fun until the latter third of the album, which just seemed to get weird for the sake of being weird, as opposed to being original and eclectic.
Rated 8/10
Pretty damn good 90s rock album. It held my attention through the entire thing and had me tapping my toes and shaking my leg like crazy. Definitely worth your time.
Rated 10/10
I think this is a phenomenal album. It's creative, original, catchy, and extremely personal. Stories of life, love, and the desire for acceptance abound in this album, and Sza's voice complements perfectly.
I'd say it's a 4.5 rating, but I'll give it the half star bump because Sza is one of my son's favorite artists.
Rated 4/10
If the Cure weren’t moody and depressed, and instead were a vacuous pop band, they might sound like this.
Rated 8/10
Half of this album is spectacular, but there are a few songs that drift too close to country for my liking. But I really like the singer's voice, and overall, I like the vibe of the album. I'd love to give it 3.5 stars, but there are too many country-adjacent songs for me to feel comfortable giving it 4 stars - even though half the album absolutely deserves it.
Actually, looking back at some of the albums I've given 3 stars that I just thought were moderately listenable, I'm giving this 4 stars because I actually really liked most of it.
Rated 8/10
This is a great album. A little less poppy than some of the albums that came afterwards, but you can hear the bones of it here. I think it drags a bit toward the end, but overall an excellent album.
Rated 6/10
Actually not bad. Not really my type of music, but I kinda liked it, and there were some bangers. 3.5 stars.
Rated 8/10
I’ve had a terrible run of albums. This album is good. Is it 4 stars good? Maybe, maybe not, but I’m so glad that it has broken up the bullshit run I’ve had.
Boring, predictable, repetitive and cliche. Apple Music says it's one of the "most...innovative and influential records of the late 60s," but to me it sounds like you're going to a renaissance fair, or playing a guitar, barefoot, on the street in San Francisco.
Rated 8/10
This album is fucking AWESOME. Albums like this remind me why I'm still engaging in this 1001 Albums project after yet ANOTHER two week run of 70s rock.
I could not tell you what genre this is, because it's like 6 genres wrapped into one. I would say I've never enjoyed a foreign language album more than this, but that's cheating a bit because at least half of the album is in English.
I know this isn't exactly an intellectual review, but I'm a bit overwhelmed because after the last few weeks, this album is like a glass of water in the middle of the desert.
Rated 6/10
Sounds like the generic soundtrack to a Vietnam War movie.
Rated 6/10
Better than I feared it would be. I'm thinking because it's SO old, it's kinda quaint. Instead of thinking about the music I just keep thinking about it as the soundtrack to a movie, like Back to the Future or La Bamba. I definitely wouldn't want to queue it up every day, but for a one off album, I've got few complaints.
Rated 4/10
I don't even know what kind of music this is. It's like 80s pop/new wave, maybe? I don't know, but it sounds like the cover looks. I didn't like it.
Rated 6/10
I remember how big this album was back in the day. You couldn't go anywhere without hearing Creep and Waterfalls. A decent time capsule to 90s R&B.
Rated 10/10
Love this album. His was the first album I ever heard that made me think electronic music could be angry, and subversive, and in your face. While not as song-perfect as Fat of the Land, this album slaps, as the kids say. 4.5 stars.
Rated 6/10
I’m one who thinks the 90s produced the best music in history.
Not this.
It’s fine, even pretty decent, but it sounds 90s in the worst possible way. I don’t know how to explain that, but I just don’t think it aged very well. Again, it’s a totally ok album — but it isn’t greatness.
