I quite like The Cure. This isn't anywhere near their best album, so it's probably 3.5 stars. That said, it gets a half star for not being another goddamned Beatles album.

OH THANK GOD! I've gone two whole days without a classic rock album! 978 albums into this project, would I set a record with THREE consecutive days? Thank whatever god you worship - I will not.

I mean, It's a pretty good album, but when you think about some of the albums that aren't on this list, I just really wonder if this one was necessary. Back in Black? Absolutely. This one? I don't see the point.

I'll give it a 3, but just barely. Roadhouse Blues is pretty good, and there's one more song that I quite liked, but I don't even really remember what it was. I think The Doors as a whole have some incredible songs, and a heap of mediocre songs, and this album is emblematic of that.

I’ll be honest - I was excited to see this pop up. I just have fond memories of The Humpty Dance when I was a kid. Unfortunately, that was the highlight of the album. 80s rap is so corny, and anachronistic that it can be hard to listen to. That said, The Humpty Dance is still a banger, and this is the band that launched 2Pac, so it’s all love from me.

This was THE defining album of the 90s, and the foundation for rap, hip hop and culture for the 20 years. Dre launched Snoop, Eminem, and Beats by Dre off the success of The Chronic, and no other album of my lifetime has even come close to having that kind of cultural influence.

It’s ok. I gave it a second listen, and I think it was better the second time, but it’s a bit dreary.

It's OK. It's early 2010s indie. A little quirky, a little fey, overall unoffensive. Why this album made the cut instead of literally a single Tool or Deftones album, however, I have no clue. No Godspeed You! Black Emperor, no Tesseract or Periphery or Mushuggah. Not bands or albums that appeal to everyone, but bands that either created or were instrumental in the creation/proliferation of entirely new genres of music. Whatever. Out of 970 albums so far, I'd say that EASILY 400 of them are confusing additions to the project.

Solid. I think it starts out like a bat out of hell, but it slows a bit at the end. I'm tempted to give it 5 stars because it's not a 300th shitty "classic rock" album, but I think it'll be 4 stars from me.

I hate it SO much. I try to be very careful with 1 star ratings, but this album made me angry that I was listening to it.

I don't hate it. I don't *like* it, but I don't feel the hate that I imagine this is going to get in the reviews. This is one of those times that I really wish I had the book, so I could understand exactly why this was chosen, but it just has the sound of some kind of trailblazer/precursor to a genre/band/movement. It's a 2.5, but I'll give it 3 because I'm feeling generous.

What is there to say? There is really nothing like Frank Ocean. It's a tragedy bordering on a crime that Blonde isn't on this project, but Channel Orange is unequivocally one of the best albums in history, so I'll take what I can get.
